This past week I found myself saying ALOT in lessons and at the show "You're doing to much!!" "Just stop and wait, your horse will give you the answer if you let him"

How true this statement is not only for our riding but also for ourselves.

We are saddened to share the passing of Ms. Renee Dunn, beloved administrative assistant to the Horse Science program. For 20 years, Renee was the welcoming face of the Horse Science main office and was the glue that held us together, the steady hand behind the scenes, and a constant source of kindness and support. From helping students with everything from pens and band-aids to offering a listening ear, she touched countless lives and made our community stronger.

The equestrian, stock horse and horse judging teams at Horse Science would like to lead a small but meaningful tribute in her memory. We invite you to join us in contributing to a fund to purchase a large, durable outdoor picnic table in her name, which will be serve as a space for continuing the kind of friendship and warmth that she shared with so many.

We’re excited to announce Ben Duke of 7th Heaven Ranch Performance Horses as our Cow Horse Clinician at The Legacy!

Ben is an NCHA professional trainer based in Middle Tennessee with a deep passion for the working cow horse tradition. His training program blends skill, horsemanship, and heritage—keeping alive the ranching way of life while preparing riders and horses for success in and out of the show pen.

One of Ben’s greatest joys is working with youth riders, introducing them to the art of cow horse, and helping them develop the confidence and foundation needed to succeed. 🌟 Clinician Spotlight: Danielle Vigue – Reining 🌟

We are thrilled to welcome Danielle Vigue of Vigue Performance Horses as our Reining Clinician at The Legacy!

Danielle is an accomplished horsewoman with a true passion for training both horses and riders. With the motto “Bringing each horse to its true potential,” Danielle is known for putting the horse’s health and well-being above all else while creating an environment where both horse and rider can thrive.

Her love for competition started early—at just 5 years old with her first painted pony, Banner—and her journey has taken her from the APHA and PtHA circuits to the highest levels of Reining. With NRHA earnings nearing $90,000 (most on horses she started and trained herself), Danielle has successfully competed in Futurities, Derbies, and multiple disciplines including Showmanship, Hunt Seat, Western Riding, Ranch Riding, and more.

While her heart is firmly in Reining, Danielle is proud to be a well-rounded equestrian and is equally passionate about coaching riders of all levels. She believes that “basic horsemanship is the key to success in any sport,” and she works with each student to set meaningful, personalized goals—celebrating both the big wins and the joy of the journey.

We can’t wait to learn from Danielle’s expertise, energy, and passion at The Legacy!
