Happy National Check the Chip Day!
To celebrate the day we wanted to share the story of Waffles. 🐱
This handsome Bengal kitty was found hanging around a good Samaritan's home and brought in for a well check. During our exam we scanned for a microchip and low and behold we were able to reach out to the owners! They were missing their feline friend for over a week and SO excited to get him back!
Microchipping is a simple, inexpensive procedure that can make the difference between a lost pet being reunited with their family—or not. According to the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA), dogs with microchips are over 2x more likely to be returned home, and cats are 20x more likely compared to those without a chip.
And don't forget to REGISTURE your chip. Despite its benefits, many microchips are never registered, or owners fail to keep their contact information up to date. That’s why National Check the Chip Day, celebrated annually on August 15th, is the perfect opportunity for us to remind you of the importance of microchipping and registering so maybe we can help you get your furry friend back to you too!
