Please consider donating to support Marissa and her pets. Her 3 wonderful dogs were hospitalized at Viking Vet ER following a house fire 2 nights ago. One of them, Lilly, did not survive. Tico is stable but still critical, and Sage is doing great. I’ve been caring for them since Marissa adopted them all, and they are beautiful, sweet, and very loved, and Marissa risked her life running into the house to save them, and has lost most of her possessions.
Please consider donating to help her with the cost of their care and Marissa’s expenses due to the severe damage to her house. https://gofund.me/8556b8d9b
P.S. Viking Vet's care of her pets (her cat is there as well) has been phenomenal.
Marissa was visiting her already hospitalized cat, Pungo, on Monday evening at Viking Veterinary Hospital in Moscow, ID. However, when Marissa returned home from her visit, she found her house in flames and engulfed in smoke.
Marissa rushed into the smoke to save her three dogs, pulling one from the fire herself and rushing them to our hospital. The Moscow Fire Department arrived on the scene within minutes. The remaining dogs were removed from the structure and given oxygen support on-site. They were then brought to our hospital, where they were admitted for emergency stabilization.
All three dogs are suffering from dangerous smoke inhalation, with the youngest dog being the most critical. Thankfully, none of them experienced burns, though they do have severe corneal ulceration from the fire.
The oldest dog, Sage, is doing great, all things considered. She is not in need of oxygen support, but is being watched closely by our team. Tico, the 4 year old Malinois, arrived in respiratory distress and is remaining on oxygen support. Lilly is currently the most critical - she’s receiving round-the-clock oxygen support in our Snyder oxygen kennel and a number of supportive treatments to keep her comfortable and aid in her recovery. Lilly has the most guarded prognosis of the three, but we are dedicated to providing high-quality and compassionate care to the entire family.
Marissa is currently displaced, with very little salvageable from her home. Because of this devastating situation we started a GoFundMe to help Marissa. We’d like to support Marissa in not only covering her veterinary bills for her four animals but also to help her get back on her feet with basic necessities like clothing, food, and more.
