Cheeto will be available for adoption on our website very soon — and we think he’s going to steal some hearts! His foster reports that he’s great with kids and other dogs, making him a wonderful family companion.

Cheeto is just one of the 4,500 dogs and cats we are on track to save this year — and every single rescue is made possible by the support of people like you.

Remember Slinky?

He came to us after being displaced due to an eviction — frightened, confused, and in heartbreaking condition.

At first glance, he appeared nearly hairless… but the reality was even worse. A severe flea infestation and malnutrition had caused him to lose his coat. His nails were inches long, curling painfully back into his paw pads.

Slinky was scared, overwhelmed, and unsure of what would happen next.

And look at him now!

Today, Slinky has a doting dad, a new sibling to play with, and a life filled with comfort, safety, and love. His transformation is nothing short of incredible.

Did you know there are unique, tax-efficient ways to support Wright-Way Rescue this year?

As a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit, we can easily accept Required Minimum Distributions (RMDs) and put them directly to work saving animals’ lives.

If you’d like to make an RMD gift, you can contact the Edward Jones office of Brooks Venable at (618) 457-7205 for assistance. It’s a true win-win — you receive the tax benefits of charitable giving while helping animals get the second chance they deserve.

We also proudly accept cryptocurrency donations, one of the most tax-efficient ways to give.

Crypto gifts are a non-taxable event, meaning you do not owe capital gains tax on the appreciated value and may still deduct the donation on your taxes. You can even donate anonymously and still receive a tax receipt.

Meet Scout — a beautiful, scruffy sweetheart all the way from Texas! 🐾❤️

When Scout first arrived, we were told she was pregnant, so she went to a foster home to prepare for delivery.

It turns out she wasn’t pregnant after all — but what her foster did discover was just how wonderful she is. Scout is great with kids and other dogs, making her a truly well-rounded, easygoing girl.

At just one year old, Scout is scruffy, affectionate, and full of love. We believe she may be a Spinone Italiano mix, adding to her unique charm.

She’s now back with us and ready to meet the family she’s been waiting for. Scout is currently available for adoption at our Murphysboro location.

A group of amazing students at Carbondale New School hosted a calendar fundraiser to support the animals of Wright-Way Rescue — and we couldn’t be more grateful.

They stopped by this morning to drop off their hard-earned donations in person, and it truly meant the world to us.

A huge thank-you to Misty and everyone at Carbondale New School for choosing compassion and supporting animals in need.

We have great news! 🎉🐾

Very soon, we will be sending these pups to participate in our prison-based training program with inmates at our local federal correctional institute — we couldn’t be more excited to introduce this semester’s students and future alumni!

Over the course of an eight-week training program, these pups will learn essential commands, good manners, and important life skills to help them succeed in their future homes.

Each dog was thoughtfully selected based on personality, temperament, and readiness for this type of training.

When they return, they’ll be fully trained, confident, and adoption-ready — prepared to join their forever families as the very best versions of themselves.

This program creates second chances for both people and pets, and we can’t wait to share their progress with you. Stay tuned for updates on this exciting journey! 💛🐶

This 8-month-old gentleman couldn’t be more chill. He loves being held, happily poses for the camera, and seems fully aware of just how gorgeous he is. 📸✨

Roxy Update! 🐾❤️

Remember the mama dog who came to us with her nine puppies, suffering from a severe skin infection that caused massive hair loss, along with other serious health issues? Just look at her now — happy, relaxed, and thriving in her foster home!

And we have the best news of all… Roxy’s foster parents have decided to adopt her! 🎉💛

She’s finally safe, well-fed, and deeply loved. Her puppies’ eyes are slowly but surely opening, and Roxy can now focus on being the mother she was always meant to be — without fear, hunger, or uncertainty about where her next meal will come from.

A huge thank-you to Helena, Roxy’s foster mom, for these wonderful update photos and for giving this sweet family so much love.

Happy endings like this are what rescue is all about. 🐶✨
