Jasper’s story: I saw Jasper’s animal surrender request come thru CNKP on 1/1 and something told me to reach out. I started a conversation with his owner and found out he had lived with other dogs and cats so I set up a meeting with him and 3 of the residents here, 2 sweet and 1 spicy to see how they would do. Kelly and Holly (thank you😘) came to help out and assess the meeting. We knew he was a VGB when he met Piggy who snapped in his face, Jasper jumped back then promptly took a p**p.
I was still considering when I reached out again and had Jasper’s owner bring him to my house to meet more of the gang. I had my friend and board member Morgan there that day to help as well. Jasper was again a rockstar. I still took a day to think about it. His owner was leaving the area on the 9th I asked him to bring him to my house on Monday night to give his young son a chance to say goodbye. Jasper was a very sensitive soul so he was confused at first but he loved the dogs so much and that helped.
Last night we were playing ball and he stopped, coughed and slumped. I thought he was having a seizure. I listened to his heart, checked his gums, they were pale so off to Blue Pearl. They found a mass that had ruptured and he was bleeding inside and there was no other option other than letting him go. I was holding him and telling him how much I loved him over and over as he went. 100 years with him would not have been enough he was perfect, I’m crushed. I hope he found Grayson, look for them both in the stars ✨💔💔
