🥹PUPPY POP-UP at the Open House today!🥹 Here's a sneak peek 👀 at some of the cuties available for snuggles. ♥ $15/person gets you admission into the puppy pop up area for 15 minutes. Sign up for your time slot upon arrival. Pop-up is from 2pm-3:30pm. The Dungeon Crawler Carl pups will be available for adoption after today's event.

🥳 It's a cat party and you're invited! 😻 $75 off cats 7 months old and up. Kittens 6 months and younger are adopt 2, get one 1/2 off. 😻 We have lots of wonderful cats looking for homes, and requests from partners to take in more. 🐾 223 adoptions. 223 lives changed. 🐾

So far this year, NCAL has helped 223 animals find loving homes—71 more than our seven-year average and one of the strongest adoption years in our organization's history.

Every adoption has a story.

Take Emma (formerly Artemis), who was adopted last August by Alison after the loss of her beloved cat, Little Man. Alison planned a slow introduction to her resident cat, Spencer. Emma had other ideas.

"Within 20 minutes, she had jumped the gate, explored the house, and touched noses with Spencer!"

Today, Emma spends her days birdwatching from her favorite scratcher, giving plenty of snuggles, and making sure Alison never visits the bathroom alone. ❤️

Stories like Emma's remind us why finding homes for animals matters so much.

NCAL spotted in the wild. 5-month old adoptable super good boy, Chance, with board President, Bruce at Stowe Vibrancy Stowe Newcomers night up at Stowe Mountain Resort. Come say hi if you are here. Chance will be at the shelter tomorrow from 1-5 PM and is ready to go home with you. We are closed on Saturday for walk in adoption for our Third Annual Open House Party at North Country Animal League - come join us.

🐾 Please Show Up for Dogs Like Callie. 🐾

When local Animal Control Officer Dean Mercier found Callie, she had been neglected and needed help. Dean began caring for her himself, making sure she received vaccinations and veterinary care before bringing her to NCAL.

Callie was underweight and struggling with the stress of shelter life, so she moved into one of our amazing foster homes with the Markham family. Today, she's soaking up the good life, napping in sunny spots, snuggling with her humans, and living peacefully alongside a small dog and a cat.

Tuesday, Callie had her spay surgery. Today, she's ready to find the loving forever home she deserves.

Callie's story is just one of many. This year alone, NCAL has partnered with local rescues, animal control officers, and community members to help dogs and cats who had nowhere else to turn.

That's why we're asking for your support.

This is a tremendous step forward for animals across Vermont.

While there is still much work to be done, it's encouraging to see lawmakers, animal welfare professionals, shelters, veterinarians, law enforcement, and advocates working together to strengthen protections for animals and improve access to care.

Real progress happens when we collaborate, and these changes represent an important step toward a more compassionate future for animals throughout our state. Thank you to everyone who continues to advocate, educate, and work tirelessly on behalf of Vermont's animals every day. ❤️
