Meet Tarzan, our new tripod kitty!!

He came to us from the Newark Shelter. They received him as a stray with a dislocated and broken leg and they opted to remove the leg. This surgery hasn't slowed him down at all (so we have to force him to so he can recover đŸ˜†)! He loves to play and he's so friendly and cuddly. We will keep everyone posted as he continues to recover.

We saw AHS Newark post a plea for this kitten, Sweeney, who had an inguinal hernia which they unfortunately weren't successful in repairing... Yes, those are his intestines bulging out of his leg! So we agreed to take him and have our specialist look at him as it was also a little beyond what our normal vets would be able to do.

Of course it was more involved than expected as there were two hernias! The specialist was able to strengthen what Newark did and then use surgical mesh on the other one to repair it, apparently the tissue was very damaged inside which made everything more difficult. Now Sweeney is out of surgery and recovering!

We had such a successful kitten yoga event on Sunday! Thank you to all of our friends, family, volunteers, foster parents, and supporters for coming out today to socialize with the kitties and do a little yoga.

3 kittens were adopted from the event! Jalen, OG, and Penny

Sheldon, Leonard, Raj, Howard, Skunk, Zorrillo, Gizmo, and Josh were all happy to make friends too.

We got Gizmo from Newark, where he had been found as a stray kitten. He wasn't eating and needed to be tube fed... We found out it was because he had an abscess in his ear but he's all better now and should be ready for adoption in a few weeks.
