An all-volunteer non-profit managing a spay/neuter voucher program in Monongalia County, WV. Pet overpopulation is an international problem.
M-SNAP is funded by grants, fund raisers, donations, and income from ReTails, a special thrift store located at 28 Commerce Drive in Westover. M-SNAP volunteers believe that education and a spay/neuter program can make a difference in their own community. Our organization includes four committees - Membership, Community Outreach, Action, and Fund Raising. Our thrift store, ReTails by M-SNAP, locat
ed in the Morgantown Mall, provides a large portion of the funds needed to supports the Voucher Program. We also apply for grants and receive substantial assistance from our community supporters. Since we mailed our first voucher in October of 2008, we have issued thousands of vouchers and paid for thousands of surgeries to spay and neuter dogs and cats that reside in Monongalia County, West Virginia. As our Mission Statement implies, we want to end euthanasia as a means of animal population control At the heart of our mission is a simple belief - no puppy or kitten should be born unwanted or without a forever home!

There is no greater tribute to an animal welfare group than to be honored by one. PAWS is a sanctioned WVU student group whose mission is to promote education in animal wellness and advocacy. M-SNAP tries to attend one meeting every year to explain why spay/neuter is the only viable solution to pet overpopulation. Our friendship has spanned more than 10 years. Today, M-SNAP received a very generous donation from their semester-long fund raising efforts. We are so proud and thankful.
