That part stays with me.

The way you chose love

But I don’t hold onto that version of you anymore.

Because I can feel something different now.

Not pain.
Not struggle.

Something lighter.

Sometimes when the sky opens up just a little—
when the air feels softer than it should—
I picture you there.

Running.

Not the careful steps you took at the end…
but the way you used to run
when nothing in the world could catch you.

Fast.
Free.
Full of joy that didn’t need a reason.

I see your ears lift in the wind.
Your body moving like it remembers
what it always was.

And for a moment…
the sadness loosens.

Because you’re not trapped in those last days anymore.

You’re beyond them.

Beyond the ache.
Beyond the weight.
Beyond everything that tried to hold you down.

Maybe that’s what this love becomes—
a way of seeing you as you truly are now…
not as you were when you left.

And maybe…
when I miss you the most—
when the sorrow feels too big to carry—

it’s because a part of me
is trying to follow you there.

To that place where nothing hurts.

To that place where you are
exactly as you should be.

🌈 World Pet Memorial Day 🌈

Today, we pause to honour and remember the beloved animals who have touched our hearts and changed our lives forever.

Whether they were with us for a few short years or a lifetime, our pets leave paw prints on our hearts that never truly fade. They are our companions, confidants, comforters, and family. Their love is unconditional, their loyalty unwavering, and their absence deeply felt.

If you are missing a cherished pet today, know that your grief matters. The bond you shared was real, significant, and worthy of remembrance. There is no timeline on love, and there is no timeline on loss.

Perhaps today you might light a candle, look through photos, visit a favourite walking spot, share a story, or simply speak their name. Every act of remembrance keeps their memory alive.

To all the pets who have crossed the Rainbow Bridge, thank you for the joy, laughter, comfort, and love you brought into our lives. You may be gone from our sight, but you will never be gone from our hearts. ❤️
