Angels Helping Animals is an all-volunteer, non-profit group in NJ dedicated to helping fur babies. Angels Helping Animals is an all-volunteer group.

Angels Helping Animals is a 501(c)3 non-profit corporation dedicated to helping improve the lives of fur babies in need. We are a family run rescue that has an amazing Angels family of volunteers, adopters and supporters. Without our amazing Angels Family we would not be able to do what we do! Angels Helping Animals is a rescue that strives to help any fur baby in need. We have our own adoption program to find "furever" homes for those in need. We work with other rescues and shelters to share donations during times of need. We also have a growing TNR (trap- neuter-release) program that works to minimize the number of free-roaming, feral, abandoned and homeless cats. We work to humanely trap colonies of cats, have them neutered or spayed, vaccinated and evaluated. This keeps the size of the colony small by not allowing cats to reproduce and allows us to place adoptable cats into their "furever" homes. Every donation we receive goes directly to helping animals in need. All administration costs for Angels Helping Animals have always and will always be taken care of personally by our volunteers. No donation money is ever used. This means that 100% of your donation will always go towards helping a fur baby in need. Welcome to the Angels family!

Please bear with us over the next few days as we lost one of our own fur babies today. Occasionally we have the fosters available for dogs. It just so happened we had lost a pup a few months before Luna came into our lives. About 9 years ago we took Luna in after she was found with a tow chain around her neck and an acid stain on her side. At just a little over a year old, she had already had at least two litters of puppies according to the vet. Through the years, she has brought so much joy into our lives and we did everything we could to make up for that hellish first year.

Today she enjoyed a freedom ride of a different kind. Free of pain, free of cancer as she crossed the Rainbow Bridge. While we absolutely know this was the right time for her, it doesn’t make it any easier. Baby girl- you will never know the impact you had on our lives 🌈🐾

On the night of October 27th (tonight) they say that the spirits of animals return for a moment to the places they loved. So if you feel a warm presence near you tonight, know that your furry angel has come to visit. Set out their favorite things, whisper their name, and remember them with love. ❤️🐾

October 27 is a special day within the Día de los Mu***os (Day of the Dead) tradition a time to honor the spirits of our beloved pets who have crossed the Rainbow Bridge.

While Día de los Mu***os spans several days of remembrance, this day is reserved just for them, the loyal companions who once filled our homes and hearts with love.

Many families create ofrendas (altars) decorated with their pets’ favorite toys, treats, photos, collars, and candles welcoming their spirits back home, if only for a moment.

Some even leave bowls of water or cozy blankets to comfort their souls after their long journey.

Oscar loves batting his jingle balls across the floor, pouncing after them with endless enthusiasm, and keeping his humans entertained with his playful antics. There's never a dull moment when this little guy is around!

But when the toys are put away, Oscar reveals his other superpower: **being the ULTIMATE cuddle buddy!** 🥹❤️

He's a true snuggler who loves curling up beside you for a nap. And tummy rubs? OH. MY. GOODNESS. Give this boy some belly rubs, and you might just have a best friend for life! He adores affection and isn't afraid to ask for extra pets, attention, and cuddles.

Basically, Oscar is the whole package: playful, affectionate, ridiculously handsome, and ready to fill your home with love. 🖤

THIS is the reality of rescue. Six days ago we posted desperately looking for fosters to pull kittens from a colony in an unsafe area. NO ONE stepped up. Two days ago we again posted desperately for fosters after a newer foster backed out unexpectedly. NO ONE stepped up besides two of our current fosters that already have MULTIPLE fosters. Yesterday we posted about Moon Pie. Lots of empty promises. Here is a taste of what we deal- people who promise and don’t deliver. People who say they are going to fill out an app but don’t. Three posts and six days later- not one single foster app.

A message from Kate:

A week ago, as part of our TNR program, I caught this little one that we named Moon Pie. I realized instantly that she was probably one that could be socialized if only there was a foster to take her in.

Over the last week or so we have tried everything in the world to find a foster for multiple cats and kittens in need and have failed. The only ones that have stepped up were our regular fosters who are already overwhelmed with fosters and their own fur babies.

Today with tears and apologies to her, I released her back to her feral site. She ran a distance, turned around, sat down and looked at me. It’s days like this that make you wanna give up rescue and make you lose your faith in people. There was not one single spot out there for her to be helped. People need to step up and help. Yes we are a rescue, but we are also human and you would be amazed at how many we already have in our homes. We can only be as good as you help us to be.

💥Fosters needed ASAP!💥

We have five kittens that are losing their foster home due to personal reasons with their foster family. These kittens have been in foster with their momma and have been posted for adoption on Petfinder and our Facebook. Momma has a pending placement. They are up to date on their vaccines. We desperately need a new foster for each of them. Due to the immediate need of foster, the litter can be split up with the exception of Diego & Pebbles who have bonded.

We have absolutely NO WHERE for these babies to go and this completely blindsided us. If we are unable to find new fosters, the foster family will take them to the shelter. We are absolutely heartbroken as these babies were born in our care. We just can’t imagine them ending up in the shelter where we have no oversight to ensure they are placed in loving, furever homes.

Today is National Feral Cat Day. We celebrate today like we do every day…365 days a year, holidays, snowy days, rainy days, sick days…taking care of the feral kitties at our numerous sites. We couldn’t do this without our dedicated team of colony care takers.

These sites weren’t planned by us. Feral colonies never are. Our sites were areas where cats gathered when someone was feeding…and then it was no longer convenient to them. The cats were abandoned and suffered. They were dependent on food and the food was no longer there. We stepped in to provide food, shelter, care and TNR.

Feral kitties are just as special to us as those in our homes. They each have a name and show us their love in their own way. So today we celebrate them!
