⚠️ Attention Pet Owners ⚠️
A significant heat wave is set to hit parts of South Jersey early this week, with some areas predicted to reach temperatures nearing 100°F.
In preparation, the National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory for Camden, Gloucester, and Burlington Counties beginning today, May 18 at noon through tomorrow, May 19 at 8 PM.
Please take the necessary precautions to help prevent your dog from overheating during this extreme weather:
☀️ Avoid walks during peak heat hours — opt for early morning or late evening outings.
💧 Always provide access to fresh, cool water.
🌳 Keep pets indoors or in shaded, well-ventilated areas whenever possible.
🐾 Check pavement temperature before walks — if it’s too hot for your hand, it’s too hot for their paws.
🚗 Never leave your dog in a parked car, even for a few minutes.
🥶 Consider cooling mats, frozen treats, or kiddie pools to help keep them comfortable.
Please be on the lookout for signs of heat stroke we listed above!⬆️
If your dog experiences any of these symptoms, contact your veterinarian immediately. Stay safe and keep your pups cool this week!🐶💙
