PLEASE SHARE; The Summer Schedule has changed again. Due to a conflict with another sorting I have cancelled the April 27th sort and it will now be on May 4th (Sunday) with a start time of 10am. We will run the same divisions as the last sort starting with the number 8, Open, 9 and possibly a 5 if there is an interest. Again it it pick & draw. I updated the schedule on hpcowhorses.com website as well. I will get results also updated but I can only do so much computer stuff at once and I've been doing Top Notch Fence stuff all week and my brain hit an end on tech junk!🤣-I would also like to add a memorial Day week-end fun sort with a round robin and a BBQ. If you would be interested please let me know. I could do the sort on any day of that week-end. Thanks again, I appreciate everyone on being flexible on dates. I do not want to conflict with other sorts that gives people an opportunity to go to as we have so little here in Western Colorado.

Thanks to the Bar Heart Bar for hosting this past weekend’s sort in Albuquerque, NM. The 7 of us, Jayden & Laramie Chynoweth, Jessica Sauter, Phebe Peterson, Bob Knight, Heather Braslin & Heidi Hill loaded up & had a fun time. Saw some old friends and met some new ones. I think the Western slope did fairly well. The Open had 84 teams, Heidi Hill & Caleb Martin sorted 27 head to end up in 2nd place. The #6 had 85 teams, Laramie & Jayden Chynoweth sorted 26 head to win the division. The #4 had 53 teams and Jayden Chynoweth ended up 2nd and Heidi Hill and Heather Braslin picked up the 4th place check. Thanks for going & riding everyone! See ya all at the next sort. Heidi

The first hp ranch sorting Jackpot will be this Sunday starting at 1030. Please Pre-Enter by Friday afternoon so I haul/number enough cattle. Will run a #8 Walk-Trot division, $35 a ride, an Open $45 a ride, #9 $35 a ride and if there is an interest a #5 for $25 per ride. All divisions are a 4 ride limit, pick & draw. $35 cattle fee per rider. We will take a break after the Open, pack a lunch to this one.

Weather Permitting I will have a practice this Sunday from 12-1:00. Please be ready to ride by 12. If there are a lot of people we will sort past 1:00. Cost is $45 per person. Please reserve a spot so I have enough cattle numbered. Also if I know you are coming and if I'd have to cancel due to weather I can give you a heads up. I will not have a practice at all next week-end.

Our Story

Ranch Sorting in Montrose! We run around two sorts every month. We keep it rolling so that everyone has a great time, but still gets home at a decent hour. We also support other sorts in the region, and will be holding some saddle sorts in partnership with the Rifle sorts. We pride ourselves on providing fresh cattle throughout the year. We try to sort year-round, weather depending. We also have lessons and sorting cattle available for practice most weekends. Give Heidi a call, (because she is not on Facebook) at 970-7249402.
