My best employee turned 2 today!
For all the puppy owners out there—this is your reminder that it does get better. Most dogs don’t show true adult maturity until around age 2 (and for some, even later!).

Merlin was once the poster pup for “hyper, impulsive, and distractible.” He created plenty of chaos in the house, but now he’s matured into a dog who mostly happily naps or snuggles when he’s off duty. You’d hardly know he’s here sometimes!

Even better, he’s grown into an incredibly socially savvy dog, leaving behind many of those classic adolescent rude and annoying behaviors.

So if you’re in the thick of puppyhood, take a deep breath and enjoy the ride. Your young dog is still learning and growing—it’s okay if they’re not “perfect” yet. With patience and time, it all comes together. ❤️

🛋️ Train your dog without leaving the couch! 🐶 Most days I want my dogs to relax when I’m relaxing, but on busy days when my puppy still has energy to burn I use games like this that: 🧠Work his brain, 💪 Exercise his body, 🛋️ and keep me comfy on the couch! In this video Moss learns to pick up a toy from the floor, drop it in a bucket next to me, and eventually deliver it straight into my hands. At the end he even puts away his frisbee like a pro 🙌 Easy for me, fulfilling for him… total win-win! 💬 What’s your go-to “lazy day” game for your dog?

📅 Check out our August Class Schedule! 🐾

We’re so excited for everything coming up this month — new classes, new skills, and a NEW FACILITY! 🎉 That’s right — our tentative move date to the brand new Willow Branch - Monticello North Market location is the week of August 18th, so some classes may begin at our current Route 47 location and finish in the new space. We’ll keep you posted every step of the way!

We’ll be taking Labor Day weekend off (no classes August 30–Sept 1) so you can enjoy travel or vacation time with your pups! 🏖️

✨ If you’re currently in Bachelor’s, don’t miss the chance to keep your dog’s progress going — our next Master’s class kicks off the first week of September. Mark your calendars!

And yes, current Master’s students, we didn’t forget you — a brand new PhD class is coming your way starting the second or third Monday in September!

🐕‍🦺 Special Highlight: Our Walk & Train sessions are tentatively returning on select Saturdays! The summer heat made safe walking a challenge, but we’re hopeful that incoming fall weather will bring cooler temps and more opportunities to get back out there with your dogs!

Highly recommend going to visit Clearview Farm before the sunflowers are gone! It is dog friendly, there is a sunflower maze to walk, and plenty of spots to take pictures! Just be cautious as it can be busy, and the maze is quite narrow! Use discretion and use those leash skills you learned in class!

🎓 Bachelors (Obedience Level 1)
Starts Saturday, August 9th at 12:30pm
This 6-week class focuses on essential skills for real-life family dogs — like leash walking, coming when called, polite greetings, and more! Perfect for dogs over 4 months old who are ready to learn in a structured group environment.

🐶 Puppy High School
Starts Saturday, August 16th at 10:00am
For puppies under 16 weeks, this class is all about socialization, foundational skills, and building a strong bond with your new pup during this critical stage of development.
