🏆 absolutely HUGE congratulations to agility student Lemon and her family for their FIRST PLACE 🥇qualifying run! Lemon came along with Merlin and I to the Capitol Canine CPE trial today, and had 2 beautiful runs! She came home with a first place ribbon in Jumpers level 1! Lemon started in Pre-Agility last Fall and has taken to the sport like a fish to water! I love having Lemon and her family in class and I am so excited to see what the rest of her agility career brings!! Congratulations!! 🎉

No add ons at Briggs today, I will be back next week! Sasha and Moss had a collision today on our morning walk, and in true old lady fashion, Sasha fell and busted a hip. One emergency vet visit later, and pending X-rays later this week, she will likely recover just fine with some rest and meds. As always, my dogs are a walking advertisement for pet insurance!

Don’t forget your collar lights on your evening walks! It’s so easy to set out when it’s still light and be caught out after dark. I like to color code my dogs so I can see which one is where! While I have my complaints about the Fi collar, I do like being able to assign each dog a color and turn them on and off in the app! Strobing/blinking collar lights can also help keep bold coyotes away from your pup (especially if you have a coyote mischief maker like Sasha here!)

Two of our puppy high school students graduated yesterday! Sadly due to vacation conflicts we couldn’t all graduate as a group. Marshmallow and Moss passed their Puppy High School evaluations with flying colors, and Marshmallow received her AKC STAR Puppy title! Puppy class is such a wonderful fun experience, and I love watching owners learn how to communicate with, enrich, and build the confidence of their little ones well on their way to becoming amazing adult dogs.
This one is extra special to me as my own puppy got to take class with the group and graduate as well ❤️🐾

Congrats to our Bachelor’s grads at Willow Branch - Monticello from this week! What a unique group of dogs, with wide ranging goals for each dog including conquering extreme fear after being rescued, stopping ankle biting, being calm instead of barking at people, not pulling handlers over on leash, and curbing some plain ole puppy behaviors! All of these dogs made very impressive progress towards their goals! Congrats to these wonderful pups!
