Employee of the Month: Can you guess from the photos?!?!
Please join us in congratulating (or roasting) our Employee of the Month… TUCKER!
Tucker is the definition of reliable—he hardly ever asks off, is always ready to lend a hand, and somehow volunteers himself for the busiest shifts (we’re looking at you, Thanksgiving). During our very first holiday at the new location—when things were a little… chaotic—Tucker stepped up like a pro, helping us tackle all kinds of on-the-spot problem solving. Honestly, we’re still not sure how we survive without him, but don’t tell him I said that.
Even though Hannah claims everyone is afraid of me, Tucker is NOT, (as long as I’m not dressed for my other job 🧟♀️), because Tucker always does a great job of communicating if something doesn’t go so smoothly, so I don’t come in to a surprise in the morning.
Got a special job? Tucker’s your guy. Whether it’s helping the team or putting in some “community service hours” mowing (because Evan apparently doesn’t trust someone with the mower… we won’t name names 😅), he gets it done.
Now, does Tucker occasionally forget to clock in? Sure. Does that mean he sometimes works for free? Also yes. But that just means he’s dedicated… right? 🤷🏽♀️
When he’s not working here…..he’s doing a combination of fighting off river otters in the Sangamon (though he never provided receipts, I’ll believe him just this once) and also working for the city. He’s literally been known to close up shop and bounce right over to the park to keep score, never missing a beat! Tucker also always shows his work on math problems and is very good at citing sources in all his papers, because I know I can’t ask him a question without a full “book report” answer-and we love that about him.
We are so lucky to have Tucker as part of the Willow Branch Howling Alley crew. Give him some love next time you see him—he’s more than earned it!
Tucker-your awards for this fine achievement (in addition to stocking the snack and drink bar) are POP-TARTS, your choice of the leftover Harry & Lloyd cookies I did not eat today, and free VIP access (no waiting in line) for you and a friend complete with a free recording of your experience, AND a backstage tour on dress-rehearsal night of the best haunted house in the area, Nightmare at Foxhill, because I know how much you love haunted houses. (participation is also mandatory and you have no choice to opt-out)
