😭💔 MEET BREE. OUR LITTLE BROKEN BEAUTY. 💔😭
It’s hard to even find the words to introduce this precious girl. Every single time we go to care for her, our hearts break all over again at the thought of what she has endured to end up in this condition. 😭
Bree was found literally running the streets of Houston, being chased by a large black dog! 😭💔 Thankfully, a kind citizen was able to scoop her up and immediately get her into our hands, where we rushed her straight to our vet.
And y’all… the condition of this poor baby. 💔
Her little body is covered in chronic skin infection, inflammation, thick crusting, and hair loss. Her eye is severely damaged and will need to be removed. During her initial examination, there was literally PUS coming out around her eyeball with just mild pressure. 😭 We cannot even begin to imagine the discomfort this little girl has been living with.
BUT HERE’S THE PART THAT ABSOLUTELY BLOWS OUR MINDS…
Despite EVERYTHING she has been through, Bree is quite literally one of the SWEETEST, happiest little souls you could ever meet!!! 🥹❤️
She barks when she’s ready to eat, pushes her little body into you begging for attention, and just wants to be loved. And boy, does she LOVE being loved!!! 🥹
We cannot say it enough… THIS GIRL IS PRECIOUS!!! 😭❤️
And the transformation has ALREADY begun! Just a bath, a few good meals, and a few doses of medication later, and this girl is a WHOLE NEW WOMAN!!! 💁🏼♀️🤣❤️
It’s absolutely incredible what a little love, proper care, and a full belly can do!
Unfortunately, Bree is also heartworm positive. 😭 We ran comprehensive bloodwork to investigate whether an underlying condition might be contributing to her terrible physical condition. Thankfully, nothing has been identified so far to suggest a separate major underlying disease! While several of her bloodwork values were outside normal ranges, our veterinarian wasn’t surprised, as the abnormalities are consistent with the significant inflammation and infection her little body is fighting.
We have a road ahead of us, that’s for sure. Between treating her severe chronic skin infection, addressing that nasty, painful eye, and eventually tackling her heartworm disease, Bree has some healing to do.

Underneath all that crusty, infected skin is a BEAUTIFUL little merle Frenchie just waiting to shine!!! And did we mention she’s just a whittle, itty-bitty POCKET-SIZED girlie?! 😍🐾
We are BEYOND excited to watch this girl’s transformation and share every step of her journey with you all!
But you know what the BEST part is?!
Her transformation isn’t going to change the most beautiful thing about her… HER HEART. ❤️
Because even at her absolute worst, when the world clearly hasn’t been kind to her, Bree has shown us nothing but sweetness, happiness, and love.
And if that doesn’t absolutely break your heart and put it back together at the same time, we don’t know what will. 😭🥹
