💔🐾 Rescue Never Sleeps - Simon's Story🐾💔
Friday we received a plea for help for a tiny puppy, estimated to be only about 10 weeks old. We immediately secured a foster, and the finder brought him to safety. But the moment he arrived, it was clear this little guy needed more medical care than could be provided by the foster.
Friday night, two of our coordinators sprang into action, picked him up, and rushed him for evaluation. Our biggest fear was parvo, but thankfully his test came back negative. ❤️
What they found was heartbreaking:
🐾 Severely lethargic
🐾 Dehydrated
🐾 Covered in fleas
🐾 Pale gums
🐾 Soft stool containing blood
🐾 Vomiting even small amounts of liquids
🐾 Abnormal respiration rate
🐾 What the vet believes to be burn marks on his back
When the finder dropped him off, she shared a tragic detail. She had found two of his siblings mauled near the house where they live on a ranch. We have no idea what this little survivor has endured, but we do know one thing:
He is safe now. ❤️
The reality of rescue is that we often say "yes" before we know the full extent of an animal's condition. We see a puppy in need, and we step up. Sometimes the true medical needs don't become apparent until the animal is safely in our care.
This has already been a difficult week filled with unexpected medical expenses, but there was no way we could turn our backs on this baby.
That's where you, our incredible supporters, come in. Every donation, every share, and every word of encouragement helps us continue saying "yes" when animals have nowhere else to go.
Please consider helping us give this little fighter the care he desperately needs. Together, we can make sure his story doesn't end in heartbreak. 🐶❤️
