Kitty heard you’re feeding your cat tuna and seafood flavors… and kitty is NOT impressed 😾

Did you know seafood is one of the most common allergens in cats? If your cat has food allergies, they may need to avoid ingredients like seafood, beef, corn, wheat, dairy, and sometimes soy. Finding the right food can be tricky, and label reading becomes a must!

If you’re starting a food trial, keep these tips in mind:
• Stick to **one protein only** no switching flavors
• Give the new diet **at least 2–3 months** to see results
• **No treats or table scraps** unless approved by your vet
• Be patient it can take time to find the right fit

Some cats may even react to trace proteins in over-the-counter diets and require a prescription food recommended by your veterinarian.
Every cat is different, so all diet changes should be discussed with your vet. If your cat has vomiting, diarrhea, or refuses the new food, give us a call; we’re here to help!

Ever wondered how subcutaneous (SQ) fluids are given to a cat? 💧🐱

In this video, Dr Flieg and CVT Erin demonstrate how we administer SQ fluids with our very patient star, Thaddeus, receiving his fluids like a champ 💙

We know giving fluids at home can feel a little nerve-wracking at first. That’s why our team always takes the time to guide you through the process, answer your questions, and make sure you feel confident before trying it on your own.

Thaddeus did an amazing job showing just how calm and smooth the process can be with the right technique (and a few gentle cuddles) 🐾💙

At The Cat Clinic of Orchard Road, we sometimes see kitties with fur matting, especially around the back, belly, or under the arms.

While mats might seem like just a cosmetic issue, a change in grooming habits can sometimes point to an underlying health issue.

A little regular brushing at home can make a big difference 💛 It keeps their coat smooth, reduces shedding, and helps you spot anything unusual early.

🐾 Senior Cat Tip from Dr. Flieg 🐾

As our feline friends age, even small changes can mean big things.

Even a slight amount of weight loss in senior cats isn’t something to ignore. While it may seem minor, gradual or subtle weight loss can sometimes be an early sign of internal health issues such as thyroid disease, kidney concerns, or other age-related conditions.

Cats are masters at hiding illness — so the scale often tells us what they don’t.

If you’ve noticed your senior cat slimming down without trying, it’s best to schedule a veterinary exam. Early detection can make a world of difference in keeping your kitty comfortable and healthy.

📞 Worried about your senior cat losing weight? Give us a call to schedule an exam today.

Your cat’s golden years should be their healthiest ones. 🧡

False: Fleas and ticks can be a problem year-round 🐾. While they’re more active in warmer months, they can survive in cooler weather, especially indoors. It’s important to protect your pet from these pests all year long, not just in the summer. 🐕
