Texas Wolfdog Project and Shelter Inc. is an all volunteer and donation based rescue/adoption facility dedicated to saving as many adoptable wolfdogs and northern breed dogs in the State of Texas as humanly possible. This will be based off of available foster homes, suitable adoptive homes and of course, financial resources for veterinary care, transportation and basic care of the residents of Tex

as Wolfdog Project. Please let it be known that we are not a sanctuary and aim to take in animals that are socialized and adoptable. We support responsible ownership and public education, as well as promoting education for other rescue groups, shelters and Animal Control facilities concerning proper wolfdog identification, evaluation and care. Meet Yuki!

Our newest intake was an urgent case. Yuki was purchased on Craiglist before being surrendered to a local animal shelter in Maryland, a state where wolfdog ownership is illegal. She had only weeks to be placed before the shelter would be forced to consider euthanasia due to her legal status. We are incredibly grateful to Montgomery County Animal Services for keeping Yuki safe until our amazing volunteers were able to make the 1,400 mile trek to bring her safely back to Texas. Now, Yuki gets to spend every day with her new best friends Ripley and Duke, and we're excited to see her personality bloom as she becomes more comfortable in her new home.❤

We had so much fun hosting Augusta Pines Women's Club at Texas Wolfdog Project on Monday. It was such a great time introducing these lovely ladies to our animals, and we hope to have you back soon.

Look at that happy face. Bane’s playful smile says it all — he loves people, belly rubs, and being right by your side. He’s gentle with pups, great on a leash, and a sweet teacher to our young ambassadors, Chilly and Pepper. Bane’s the kind of dog who just wants to love and be loved. 🐺🖤

We had such a great weekend attending Laws for Paws hosted by ! It was such a joy learning from some of the greatest voices in Texas fighting for our animals. We met some amazing people, and hope to be back in the future.

In two weeks, our amazing volunteers are going to be traveling across the country in order to pick up this beautiful pup in need of placement. But as you might guess, traveling thousands of miles to help wolfdogs isn't cheap! Calling all hunters and their significant others who want their freezer space back! 🍁🍂🫎🦌🦃

If you are gearing up for this year's deer season and needing to clear out any freezer-burned meat from last year, our wolfdogs would love to help you out! We can accept any meat that isn't pre-cooked or has already been made into delicious jalapeno sausage. (Boar or wild hog meat only if it has been frozen for 30 days or more.)

Let us know if you'd like to give these spoiled creatures a taste of the wild.

This , we're featuring our handsome redheaded boy, Lupin!

Lupin has been looking for his family for far too long. He turned nine years old this year, and he's spent the majority of his life at our shelter. Trust us, he hasn't done a single thing to deserve it. He may demonstrate a little husky drama now and then, but this boy is, 90% of the time, a calm, well-mannered gentleman. His laid-back personality would be a good fit for a family with older children, or for hanging out on the couch with a female doggy friend.
