We are heartbroken for our sweet Lucky but hopeful this time…..that we will get it right!

He came to us as a young dog, full of hope, and spent nearly the first three years of his life in and out of our system.

His first home came after a year of waiting. It lasted just days before allergies sent him back. A year later, he found a new family, but they couldn’t keep their pets contained. Back he came, tail still wagging. Then, after almost another year, Lucky left us again. This time felt different. This time felt forever.

Today, we picked him up again.
Heartworm negative. 30 pounds heavier than when he left us. And still, the same gentle soul who greets you like you’re the best part of his day.

His owner didn’t hand him over easily. With tears rolling down his cheeks, he told the amazing team at the Elmore County Humane Society all about the love Lucky gave him. The kind of love that makes life better, softer, lighter. But life dealt him a medical crisis, and he simply can’t care for Lucky anymore.

Lucky has spent too much of his life waiting. He’s pushing 5 years old now, and every single minute matters. He deserves to know the security of a forever home one that doesn’t end.

If you’ve ever thought about adopting, this is the moment. All we ask is that you promise to love him forever. This has just got to be the point in his life where his BAD luck runs out…..
