We are looking for motivated individuals to join our team! The kennel technicians provide daily care for our boarders, and assist with the doggy daycare program. This position’s main focus is comprehensive animal care and safety. We strive to provide a fun-filled and safe environment for the pets in our care. Working with dogs is a lot of fun, but this job is extremely demanding and requires someone who understands dog and cat behavior, and has excellent dog and cat handling skills. Candidates must be organized, able to communicate clearly with staff and pet parents, work independently, and have a passion for animals of all sizes and personalities. Candidates must be knowledgeable about dog behavior and body language, and be able to redirect dogs that are exhibiting inappropriate behavior in a safe manner.
Essential Job Functions:
* Monitoring all dogs indoors and in the play yard
* Working with large groups of dogs
* Walking and interacting with dogs
* Maintaining a safe environment
* Providing excellent customer service
* Keeping the facility clean and maintained
* Record keeping, checking in and out dogs
* Administering medicine to boarders
* Bathing and performing nail trims
Requirements
* High school diploma or equivalent
* At least one year’s experience working with dogs is preferred but not required
* Must be friendly, organized, and customer service driven
* Must have the ability to work in an extremely fast-paced work environment
* Be able to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted
* Must have a passion for animal welfare
* Must be available to work during afternoons, weekends, and holidays.
