Okay, I HAVE to share this Cooper update because my heart just can’t handle it. 🥹❤️

This handsome boy is Cooper, one of my regulars and one of my absolute FAVORITE clients. 🐾❤️

Cooper has always been my little Nervous Nelly. 😂 He comes through the door shaking like a leaf, and before we even THINK about starting his groom, he gets a solid 10 minutes of extra love, cuddles, reassurance, and time to decompress.

We take things at Cooper speed around here. 🥰
But TODAY… 👀

COOPER CAME IN DOING THE HAPPY STOMPS. 😭❤️

No shaking. No nervous little Cooper. Just happy feet and a whole lot of “HI FRIEND, I’M READY!” 🥹😂

And let me tell you… it absolutely MADE MY DAY.

Watching a dog who has always been nervous slowly build trust, confidence, and comfort with you is one of the BEST parts of this job. I know a happy little stomp might not seem like a huge deal to everyone else, but to me?! THAT WAS A BIG DEAL. 🥹
Cooper is literally the sweetest boy, and seeing how far he has come has me over the moon. 🌙❤️

I know his mom isn’t going to care that I’m taking extra time with him, and I SUPER appreciate that, so shoutout to her! ❤️😂

But I am soaking up ALL the happy Cooper moments, and I am most definitely going to take my sweet time. 🤣❤️ These are the moments I live for!

💰 LET’S TALK ABOUT TIPS! 💰

I’ve had a few people say to me, “Oh, I’m so sorry, I can’t tip,” or “I’m sorry, I just can’t afford to tip right now.”

PLEASE. NEVER be sorry. ❤️

Tips are always appreciated, but NEVER expected. Your dog is going to get the exact same love, care, patience, attention, and ridiculously thorough grooming whether you tip me $0 or $100. I promise you, I am not keeping score. 😂

And honestly… asking about tips is still something I’m trying to get used to. 🤣🤣
I used to just skip the tip option completely because it felt SO awkward for me to ask.

I’m socially awkward, okay?! Don’t judge me. 😂😂

BUT then people would ask afterward, “Can I leave a tip on my card?” and I’d have to go back through the system and basically perform technological gymnastics trying to figure out how to redo the transaction. 🤦‍♀️🤣
So apparently, asking “Would you like to leave a tip?” is significantly less stressful than trying to reverse-engineer my own payment system. 😂

So when I ask, please don't feel pressured by it. If you want to tip, I am incredibly grateful. If you don't, that's perfectly okay. If you can't, that's perfectly okay too.

There is absolutely no judgment here.

Your dog will still be treated like the spoiled little VIP they are, and I’ll still give them my very best every single time. 🐶❤️

So please… never apologize for not tipping.

Your support, trust, and continued business already mean more to me than you know. 🥰

Now if you'll excuse me, I have to go awkwardly ask someone if they want to tip. 🤣🤣🤣

🐾 A HEARTFELT REMINDER FROM THE DAPPER DOG 🐾

I know nobody loves a price increase, and honestly… neither do I. 😅 But I wanted to take a moment to explain the changes coming September 1st and why they’re necessary.

Starting September 1st, my new pricing will officially take effect, and I will also be enforcing matting fees and handling fees when they are needed.

Please know this is not because I want to charge more. It’s because I have to take care of my business, my equipment, and my body so that I can continue doing what I absolutely love, grooming your dogs. ❤️

One of the biggest reasons I’ve chosen to keep The Dapper Dog a one-on-one salon is because I genuinely love the quality time I get to spend with every dog on my table. I don't want to turn this into an assembly line where dogs are rushed in and rushed out.

I want their groom to feel like a spa day. 🛁🐶✨

Every full groom includes:

🫧 Double shampoo
🧴 Deep conditioner
💨 Thorough blowout
🪮 Brush out
✂️ Haircut, when needed
👂 Ear cleaning
🐾 Nails cut & filed
🦷 Tooth brushing
🌸 Perfume
🎀 Bandana or bow
✨ And, of course, lots of love!

And YES… the tooth brushing is included! 🦷

❤️ I know it may seem like a small thing, but dental care is an important part of your dog's overall grooming and hygiene, so I want to make it part of their spa experience rather than something that's an extra charge every time.

And here's a little something you may not know: 🪥 Every dog gets their very own toothbrush! I don't reuse toothbrushes between dogs. If you'd like to take your dog's toothbrush home with you, you absolutely can, just let me know! ❤️

And around here, treat time and play time are MANDATORY. 😂❤️ Your dog isn't just getting groomed, they're getting cuddles, snacks, breaks, playtime and a chance to decompress. That's a huge part of what makes The Dapper Dog different.

🐶 A QUICK NOTE ABOUT PRICING:

All of my prices are based on dogs being maintained on approximately a 4–8 week grooming schedule. When a dog goes significantly overdue, their groom can require substantially more time, brushing, bathing, drying and physical work. Because of that, overdue grooms may be subject to an increased price and/or matting fees.

Matting and handling fees aren't punishments. They're simply compensation for the additional time, tools, physical effort and care required when a groom is more difficult than a regularly maintained coat.

📅 Need an early drop-off or late pick-up?

Please just reach out ahead of time! I completely understand that life happens, and I'm always happy to see what we can work out when I have the availability. ❤️ Just please don't assume an early drop-off or late pick-up is automatically possible.

🐾 THE DAPPER DOG HAS BEEN QUIET… BUT BOOG HAS BEEN BUSY. 😂🤣

I know, I know… the Dapper Dog page has been a little suspiciously quiet lately. 👀
Things have been CHAOTIC around here lately 😅

Between a completely packed grooming schedule, life happening, and trying to keep all the plates spinning, social media has definitely taken a back seat.

So naturally, I figured it was time for the most important update of all…

🐶 BOOG UPDATE! 🐶

This big goofy baby is officially 8 months old now! 🥹❤️

And somehow, despite getting BIGGER by the day, he is still the absolute BEST salon puppy on the planet.

His official job responsibilities include:
🛋️ Claiming the nap chair
💤 Taking extremely serious naps
👀 Supervising the grooming operation
🐾 Making friends with basically everyone
😂 Being a giant goofball
🧸 Carrying around things he absolutely does not need
❤️ Providing emotional support to anyone who needs it

…and occasionally reminding me that I apparently brought a whole-ass bear to work with me. 🤣

And yes… the nap chair is his favorite place in the entire salon. 😂

I swear this dog has no idea how big he is. In his mind, he is still just a tiny puppy who belongs in my lap. Meanwhile, his legs are approximately the length of my torso. 😭🤣

He has grown SO much, but that sweet, goofy personality is still exactly the same.

✨🐻 MEET WALKER THE FLUFFY VOLUNTEER! 🐻✨

Okay, so remember that fluffy volunteer/model dog I was looking for?! Well… I picked Walker! 😍

Walker has been coming to me since I first opened The Dapper Dog, and he is honestly such a fantastic dog to have on my table. He’s an absolute sweetheart, SO much fun to have here, and he is just a dream to work with. ❤️

I’m going to share a few pictures of how I normally groom Walker, followed by his before pictures from today and then his after pictures because I REALLY wanted you guys to see the difference!

And today was a little different. 👀

Walker got here around 10:30 this morning, but we didn't immediately start grooming. I took him on about a 20-minute walk around the parking lot, then we came inside and played for a bit. I wanted to get some of that extra energy out before putting him on the table.

We finally started his bath around 11:30, and this boy got the FULL SPA DAY. 😂

🫧 First two shampoos were clarifying shampoo
🧴 Then a deep conditioner that sat for about 10 minutes
💨 Then came the PERFECT fluff dry

And then… I got to do something I almost NEVER get to do:

I never once looked at the clock. 😭🙌
It was absolutely FANTASTIC!!!

No rushing.
No watching the time.
No thinking about who was coming next.
No trying to decide whether I had another 15 minutes to perfect something.

Just me, Walker, and a whole lot of fluffy hair. 😂❤️

Walker was here almost the entire day, but we took plenty of potty breaks and breaks to just hang out. And because apparently Mother Nature wanted to make this as difficult as possible… IT RAINED. 🤣

So every time we went outside, we came back in with wet feet and I had to re-dry his feet.

Poor Walker probably hates my dryer now. 😂😂😂

But here’s the part I’m REALLY proud of:

✨ His entire groom was hand scissored. ✨

Not a single clipper was used on his body, just the clippers for his paw pads and sanitary area.

Everything else was shaped, blended, and finished completely by hand. ✂️🐻
And honestly… I am SO proud of this groom. 🥹❤️

There is something so incredibly satisfying about being able to take your time, really look at the dog in front of you, make adjustments, step back, look again, and just keep working until you’re genuinely happy with what you see.

And Walker's mom was AMAZING for letting me keep him here all day and giving me the freedom to take my time with him. I am SO thankful. ❤️

This is exactly why I wanted to do a fluffy volunteer day in the first place.

It gave me the opportunity to slow down, experiment, practice, and really challenge myself creatively, without that little voice in my head constantly going…
“HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN GROOMING THIS DOG?!?!” 😂😂😂

So Walker, thank you for being my fluffy guinea pig today. 😂❤️

Obviously, if you’ve ever been in the salon, you already know I have a slight obsession with plants. 🤣🌱 Like… if there’s an empty corner, I’m probably thinking, “Hmmmm… that could use a plant.” 😂

Well, apparently my plants have decided to join the reproduction party because my curly spider plant AND my aloe plant both have babies!! 🥹🌿👶

So if you’re looking for a little plant baby to take home and love, COME GET ONE! 🥰

And listen… if anybody wants to do some plant trading, I AM ABSOLUTELY HERE FOR IT. 😂😂

At this point, The Dapper Dog may accidentally become a grooming salon/plant nursery. 🤣🤣🌱🐶
