The Green County Humane Society is a non-profit, no-kill animal shelter located in Monroe, WI.

The purpose of our page is to help reunite pets with their owners and to educate the public about our role in the community, our policies, and general pet ownership. We recognize the fact that animals evoke deep emotions in many people, as they do us, but must ask that our posters refrain from judging others/posting negative comments when both sides of the situation are not known. In many cases, we will not comment on the situations regarding particular animals. We are bound by confidentiality, laws, and our own ethics, in which we do not judge (as we often don’t have all the facts, especially with lost pets) and cannot dictate how an owner cares for their animals. If you have a particular concern or question that requires immediate attention, we ask that you contact the shelter directly at (608) 325-9600 or visit our website at www.greencountyhumane.org. Our Facebook site is monitored by volunteers and, oftentimes, we cannot respond immediately.

To our Green County Humane Society Family, Friends, and Supporters,

After eight years of dedicating myself to a mission so close to my heart, I have made the difficult decision to step down as Executive Director of GCHS.

Having the privilege of playing a small part in the story of every animal who has come through our doors has been one of the proudest accomplishments of my life. The memories, friendships, and experiences I've gained along the way will stay with me long after I begin my next chapter.

Above all, I want to say thank you.

Thank you for entrusting me with this incredible organization, for believing in our mission, and for standing alongside us through every challenge and triumph. The generosity and compassion of Green County and beyond never cease to amaze me. Together, we've accomplished so much, and I know there are even greater things ahead for GCHS.

And now, we need YOU to help us find our next pack leader! 🐾

Our Board of Directors has begun the search for GCHS's next Executive Director, and we'd love your help spreading the word! More information about the position can be found through the link provided.

I will continue serving as Executive Director during this transition, and in the meantime, my door is always open if you'd like to stop in and bid me adieu. 😊

Trigger (Cowboy) and Otis (Waylon) are a bonded pair you have to meet! 🤠

They're an adventurous pair who have been together their entire lives and love people (including kids). These two really enjoy meeting new people and would love it if you stopped by!

And then there were two! ✌👭

Peppermint Patty (scary t-rex) and Schroeder are still here waiting to be adopted! There were initially three pups together, but their sister has found her forever family!

These cuties are 5 months old, and love to share their puppy love!

Hello, I'm Hugo! I was found tied in someone's yard in Brodhead, and unfortunately I was never reclaimed so I am now looking for a forever home! Staff is unsure how I do with other dogs & cats but if you're interested & have other pets, ask about their day pass option!

I'm 3 years old and initially shy with new people & take a little time to warm up, due to this I need a home with no children under the age of 12.

Once I'm comfortable, I'm a sweet guy who likes to get attention & go for walks. Are you my forever family I've been waiting for?
