The purpose of our page is to help reunite pets with their owners and to educate the public about our role in the community, our policies, and general pet ownership. We recognize the fact that animals evoke deep emotions in many people, as they do us, but must ask that our posters refrain from judging others/posting negative comments when both sides of the situation are not known. In many

cases, we will not comment on the situations regarding particular animals. We are bound by confidentiality, laws, and our own ethics, in which we do not judge (as we often don’t have all the facts, especially with lost pets) and cannot dictate how an owner cares for their animals. If you have a particular concern or question that requires immediate attention, we ask that you contact the shelter directly at (608) 325-9600 or visit our website at www.greencountyhumane.org. Our Facebook site is monitored by volunteers and, oftentimes, we cannot respond immediately.

Have you ever considered fostering? Now is your chance to make a difference!
We are assisting an overcrowded animal shelter by taking in some of their pups next week & they asked if we may be able to take this beautiful mom & her 7 pups. To be able to help them, we need you!

Mom loves people & is outgoing. We don’t know how she does with other animals but since she has pups, we do recommend having a separate space for her & her babies. Puppies are 5.5 weeks old so they would be looking for a foster home for the next 3-4 weeks.

Praitor is being sponsored by our Corporate Member Eckdhal Family Dentistry! 🎉🐕

Praitor has been with us for over 169 days and is still waiting patiently for his forever home!

Praitor is 2 years old and transferred to GCHS from Alabama. He gets along with dogs, cats and children.

He's a gentle pup who can be timid around new noises, and is working on kennel training at night with his foster family! He's an amazing dog, and we hope that he finds his home soon!

Because of this sponsorship, Praitor's adoption fees are taken care of! We hope this helps him find his forever family! 💗

Now that August is over, we can share how amazing Clear the Shelters was! 🎉

This August, there were 42 dogs adopted, and 68 cats! That is all thanks to our community who took a chance and gave our animals a forever home! 🏠💞

We're already so excited for this year's Fast & Furriest 5K!

We know this year is sure to be so fun, because our participants and animals gets to dress up! Grab your friends for a group costume, or pair up with your four-legged friend! 🐕

We'll be walking, running, and wagging on Saturday, October 10th at 9:00 AM on the Sugar River Trail in New Glarus. Make sure to sign up before September 25th, so you can be guaranteed a race shirt! 🎽

Sometimes we have people reach out in need of rehoming their pet. In an effort to keep animals out of the shelter, we offer our Home-to-Home option!
These animals are not currently in our care but are still searching for a new home.

These 2 kitties are looking for a home together. Hank is 8.5 years old (white/orange) & Mildred aka Millie is 6.5 years old (grey). They are both declawed & have been inside their entire lives. They do well with dogs & love people!

Aqua was our first mama kitty of the year but she’s still here waiting for her forever home. 🐈

Aqua was transferred to us along with her single kitten, Teal. Her kitten was quickly adopted once he was on the adoption floor & now, it’s Aqua’s turn for a family!

This girl is SUPER sweet, mellow & loves attention. She’d love a home where she can snuggle & nap in a sunbeam. 😻

Aqua is a part of our Overdue Crew so her adoption fee is half off!
