Fang may literally be the BIGGEST, sweetest dog in Charleston Animal Society Berkeley Campus history! Fang's owner had medical issues that forced him to surrender this enormous Bloodhound.

Now the staff at the Berkeley Campus has swung into action providing Fang his vaccines and some gentle TLC. The first thing they had to do was weigh Fang and that's where the guessing game began. See if you can tell how much this big boy weighed!
Fang will soon be up for adoption and you can visit him at the Berkeley Campus, located at 131 Central Berkeley Drive in Moncks Corner! 🐶💛

We love getting follow up stories from people who have adopted from our Berkeley Campus! We heard from Angie about her two kitty adoptions and this is what she said!

Darcy was our first adoption back in December and she has been sassy, bossy, and princess of the house!!
We found Penelope aka Carrot at petsmart a week ago! She was the only one left and my husband kept saying no but he adores her!
Darcy went from being a loner and only cuddling at night to taking care of the baby and letting her snuggle!! Penelope is such a sweet bug whose playful joyful self has brought so much happiness to our home❤️❤️❤️
Please send us your adoption updates to [email protected] and we will feature your photos and update in one of our posts.

Spam is in the Adoption Ambassador foster program. Foster families take animals into their homes and help them get adopted. This is what his foster family is saying about him:

Spam is a gentle, timid soul who just needs a little time to feel safe. In new environments, he may hang back and observe, but once he's around other dogs, his personality begins to shine. With his K9 companions by his side, Spam gains confidence and starts to show his sweet, playful nature.

He would thrive in a home with another friendly dog who can help guide him and bring him out of his shell. With patience, understanding, and a steady routine, Spam is sure to blossom into a loyal and loving companion. If you're willing to give him the time he needs, you'll discover a truly special pup.

Logger is an 8-year-old, 64 lb terrier mix looking for a patient and understanding home. He can be a bit under-socialized, so he'd do best with a calm, tolerant dog companion who can help him feel more comfortable and confident. With the right environment, Logger has so much potential to shine and become a loyal companion.

BISSELL Pet Foundation ’s Empty the Shelters® 10th Anniversary Event
BISSELL Pet Foundation’s Empty the Shelters® – the nation’s largest funded adoption event – returns May 1-10, 2026, marking the 10th anniversary of the Foundation’s signature program.
This milestone event celebrates a decade of lifesaving second chances for shelter pets. Hosted in partnership with Charleston Animal Society, Berkeley and Charleston Campuses, the initiative helps make adoption more affordable by sponsoring reduced adoption fees. Adoptions at both locations will be 50% off! All pets are spayed or neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped—ready to go from kennel to couch.
As shelters face increased intake during the spring months and adoptions struggle to keep pace, this event provides critical relief by helping thousands of pets find loving homes. Since launching in 2016, Empty the Shelters has helped nearly 400,000 pets find homes through partnerships with 909 organizations across 49 states and Canada. Visit our shelter Monday-Friday 12-3pm and Saturday and Sunday 10-5pm!

As the other dogs at Charleston Animal Society Berkeley Campus wake up barking and clamoring for their breakfast, sweet Ursula lies there still sound asleep in her kennel. It takes one of the staff members to go into Ursula's kennel to wake her with a gentle tap. Ursula is playful with other dogs and also loves children. She is looking for that special home for a special dog. Ursula is available for adoption at the Berkeley Campus, located at 131 Central Berkeley Drive in Moncks Corner.

Her adoption along with all adult dogs and cats are 50% off, thanks to BISSELL Pet Foundation 's Empty the Shelters event May 1-10th. You can learn more at CharlestonAnimalSociety.org.
