GOOD MORNING AND HAPPY MONDAY FROM V.A.R.S.!
We are starting this week with 5 rescues completed over the weekend! Four cats and one owl safely helped!
Every rescue is a reminder of why V.A.R.S. exists. When an animal is stranded somewhere it cannot safely get down, we want their people to know they are not alone and that help is available.
This weekend, we helped Luna, a long haired Siamese who had been stuck in a tree for nearly three days, a young kitten in Turlock, a frantic cat stuck in a tree overnight near Standiford Avenue, and another cat at a property where we had previously completed a rescue. We also responded to an owl tangled in fishing line in a tree near Modesto Reservoir.
Five rescues. Five animals who needed help. Five reminders of why getting our information into the community matters.
This weekend also brought something important to our attention. Some people are still having trouble finding our information when they need help.

V.A.R.S. stands for Volunteer Animal Retrieval Specialists. We are a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping animals stranded in trees and other inaccessible places. Our rescues are provided free of charge because we do not believe someone should have to worry about the cost while worrying about an animal's safety.
Our mission is bigger than rescuing animals. We want to build a community where people know where to turn when an animal needs help.
