Our goal is to rescue and rehabilitate abused, abandoned and neglected horses, to regain their trust, and find them safe, loving, permanent adoptive homes.

To provide a sanctuary where some may live out the remainder of their lives with dignity and peace. We, White Gates Farm Equine Rescue, are registered with the state of Alabama as a domestic nonprofit organization and with the IRS as a 501c3 Corporation making your donation, charitable and a tax deduction. Blessed with the land my grandparents blood, sweat and tears went in, we work closely with our local shelters and neighboring Rescue’s, trying to save as many horses and farm animals as possible. While we have the space to shelter a few, we can not continue to feed them without your help. Horses arrive here abandoned, abused, emaciated, neglected hooves, hurt and very scared. Our main goal, here at White Gates Farm, is to show them love, feed, care and compassion during their stay on our farm while finding them all permanent and forever homes. Your donations are what make it possible to buy hay/feed, rehabilitate, transport and vet/farrier bills. Please contact us to donate, sponsor, lease, volunteer or to help in any way.

These 2 mares came in as an owner surrender on October 23rd with Honkeydonk. Their owner unfortunately passed away rather quickly from cancer and the rest of the family lives out of state so they asked that we find them a good home. They are up to date on shots and have a negative coggins and are definitely NOT underweight!! Sara is 20 yrs old and her daughter, Rosebud, is 15 years old. Both previously ridden but has been years…These sweet mares are very friendly and the previous owners family would love for them to stay together. We have a list of people to see them. 🤠

**Late post** Honkeydonk was an owner surrender along with 2 mares on October 23rd. Huge thanks to Victoria Alexis Reid for helping me haul them to the rescue and for immediately falling in love with Honkeydonk and taking her home. Miller has a new best friend in this donkey! She is absolutely beautiful and is already very loved!!!!

Raz is the last of the herd of 4 that came in with the elevated liver enzymes to be adopted! She is grazing in new pastures today and meeting her new pasture mates. Thanks to Marie Hanes for adopting a rescue.

April seemed to be affected the most by the toxic weeds that were ingested by the herd that came in a few months ago. She came off food for some time and seemed to be giving up but has recently gained some of her weight back and is eating, grazing and enjoying all the treats she is given💛 We are so grateful to Emily Ellis for loving sweet April and giving her a chance to overcome all she has been through and for giving her a forever home! She is getting along with her new pasture mate and getting to know the other farm animals. Thank you again Emily for choosing a rescue!!

Dreamy is doing wonderful and seems to love all her new adventures! Huge thanks again to Susie Barnes and all the little handlers for giving her a forever home and loving her so much💛

**Courtesy post** Not at our rescue~ This sweet mare is approximately 17 years old and is looking for a forever home in a cooler climate. She has struggled in the heat all summer and would benefit living her life out somewhere north of here. Please contact her owner Sharon at 228-217-8523.

Just enjoy being with the horse 🥰

Just a couple of happy butts excited to be in another open pasture away from the fallen tree🤠

So thankful this morning. All the animals are fine! We had a lot of debris everywhere but only minimal damage to one of the round pens, the roof peeled back on the saw mill and a tree uprooted. Which by the grace of God, didn’t fall toward the goat pen or the barn and was caught by another tree. The challenge will be taking it on down. But we are all safe~still without power~but all safe!

We are as secure as we can be~lost power about 30 minutes ago and have several limbs down already. Most of the horses are acting frisky in the wind and the other farm animals are snuggled in each of their own pens, cages and coop. I am praying a hedge of protection around this farm and over all our animals, our community and everyone in the path of Isaias! 🙏

Pics taken yesterday during the calm before the storm!
