White-Gates Farm Equine Rescue

White-Gates Farm Equine Rescue We provide a loving and nurturing home for all equines in need and much more! Please contact us to donate, sponsor, lease, volunteer or to help in any way.

We, White Gates Farm Equine Rescue, are registered with the state of Alabama as a domestic nonprofit organization and with the IRS as a 501c3 Corporation making your donation, charitable and a tax deduction. Blessed with the land my grandparents blood, sweat and tears went in, we work closely with our local shelters and neighboring Rescue’s, trying to save as many horses and farm animals as possi

ble. While we have the space to shelter a few, we can not continue to feed them without your help. Horses arrive here abandoned, abused, emaciated, neglected hooves, hurt and very scared. Our main goal, here at White Gates Farm, is to show them love, feed, care and compassion during their stay on our farm while finding them all permanent and forever homes. Your donations are what make it possible to buy hay/feed, rehabilitate, transport and vet/farrier bills.

Remi’s 1 month photo shoot. Since her arrival, she has been seen by the Vet and is now UTD on vaccines. Remi is still not eating like we had hoped and her pain issues have not been resolved. But she is the absolute sweetest most forgiving soul🥰 She is gaining some weight but struggling!

Jazz’s 1 month photo shoot. Since her arrival, she has been seen by the Vet and is now UTD on vaccines, has a neg coggins, and had her teeth floated. Jazz is basically an untouched 4 year old. She is eating all her portions and runs off any horse that comes her way😅even while in a stall! She still needs a sponsor and is looking for a forever home🥰 She truly needs someone coming out on a regular basis to work with her….she does not trust people yet, so if you are looking for a project…she is your girl, hmm hmm…Mare! 🤠

While horse rescues strive to find forever homes for their animals, sometimes adoptions just don't work out. It can be for various reasons…financial, health, a poor match but whatever the case… CALL THE RESCUE back or somebody to come help you as soon as you know you can no longer care for the horse. To re-rescue a horse can be a very difficult situation for everyone involved, especially the horse. The horse may have developed new behavioral problems because of the environment he/she was in, so we have to relearn the horse, or the horse is so severely malnourished, stressed and lost all faith in humans! Most importantly, the re-feeding program! If not properly re-introduced to food, at a slow and steady pace, it can be critical, even fatal for the horse! Honestly, it’s just too much on their bodies to go through again!!
Unfortunately, this is the case with our little red roan, Buddy! He is way worse than the first time he was surrendered to the farm!! I feel like I let him down. But, I’m gonna do everything I can to give him all the love, care and groceries possible. If you would like to consider making a donation toward his rehab.🙏 Thank you in advance!

Charlie and Remi were seen by the Vet yesterday but unfortunately, did not get good reports. We will continue to do what the vet recommends for their comfort and make sure they have full bellies. Occasionally, by the time they arrive at a rescue, they are in such bad shape, there’s not much more we can do. Prayers for Charlie and Remi🫏🐎 Donations for their vet care and rehab can be made to:

Jazzy girl is still learning who she can trust but she is young so she will get it. She was seen by the Vet yesterday, is now up-to-date on all her shots, had blood drawn for her Coggins and had her teeth floated. She is a four year-old, Arab-cross that is still looking for a sponsor and a forever home.
