Marcella packed her backpack, grabbed a snack, stole somebody’s shoe and is officially ready for class. 😂

This 2-year-old Shiba Inu is smart, sassy, playful and absolutely FULL of personality. Her favorite activities include playing fetch, patrolling the yard, providing very important neighborhood commentary and engaging in WWE-level wrestling matches with her dog friends.

And speaking of friends… Marcella is NOT interested in being the new kid alone! 🐾 She must be adopted into a home with another dog who can help her feel confident and, preferably, doesn’t mind a good game of chase.

Marcella can be shy with new people and needs plenty of patience and space while she gets comfortable. But once you’re part of her inner circle, you’ve got one loyal, goofy girl on your hands. ❤️

She’s great with kids of all ages, can live with dog-savvy cats after slow introductions, is fully potty trained and has excellent house manners. She does have plenty to say, so she’s looking for a home without shared walls.

Marcella has experienced two seizures and currently takes phenobarbital twice daily, which is successfully managing them. She takes her medication like a champ and continues living her happy, active life!

🐾 Meet Simba Tuna! 🐈

Simba Tuna is a handsome buff-and-white gentleman with a soft spirit and a quiet charm. This independent boy may be a little shy when you first meet him, but give him a little time (and maybe some tasty wet food), and you’ll start to see his sweet personality shine through. Indeed, once he is comfortable, his vocal personality will definitely let you know he's around!! He's a chatty one.

Simba Tuna enjoys the simple things in life—cozy cat beds with a blanket to hide, sunny windows, and a good head scratch from someone he trusts. While he doesn’t need to be the center of attention, he appreciates gentle affection and is perfectly content being picked up when needed. He’s a great balance of active and relaxed, happily entertaining himself with catnip toys and toy mice before settling in for a peaceful nap.

He gets along well with other cats and would likely adjust to a respectful dog with proper introductions. Simba Tuna would do best in a calmer home with older, pet-savvy kids who understand his independent nature.

Fully litter trained and easygoing, Simba Tuna is the perfect companion for someone looking for a low-key, lovable cat who will quietly steal your heart.

Meet Drama Llama! 🦙🖤

Despite his name, this handsome 3-year-old boy is surprisingly low on the drama and very high on the love. Drama Llama may be a little shy when meeting new people, but give him a bit of time to settle in and you’ll quickly meet the sweet, affectionate guy underneath.

Once he’s comfortable, Drama Llama is a big snuggler who loves being near his people, curling up for cozy naps, and soaking up affection. He’s also earned the nickname Puma because when playtime starts, this laid-back gentleman suddenly becomes a professional athlete. He takes his toys VERY seriously and can pull off some seriously impressive jumps when there’s something worth chasing!

When he’s not showing off his Puma moves, he’s perfectly happy relaxing in a comfy cat bed, enjoying some catnip, or convincing you that he definitely deserves another snack. He has a wonderful balance of playful and easygoing energy.

Drama Llama gets along great with other cats and would likely do well with respectful dogs after proper introductions. He’s also great with children of all ages. He’s fully litter box trained, has excellent house manners, and doesn’t mind being picked up and handled.

If you’re looking for a sweet, snuggly, easygoing cat with just enough inner Puma to keep you entertained, Drama Llama might be your guy. 🖤

HELP US BRIDGE THE GAP. 😺❤️🐶💛

Right now, our general fund is -$19,828.05.

Our general fund is what helps us bridge the gap when an animal needs care that a fundraiser didn’t fully cover, when the cost of veterinary care is higher than expected, or when an animal comes to us with urgent needs that simply can’t wait.

Recently, fundraisers for animals like Sparky and Gordy didn’t reach their goals. Their care still had to happen, so our general fund covered the difference.

At the same time, the cost of veterinary care and food continues to rise. Fully vetting an animal for adoption can cost more than the adoption fee we receive, and we’ve been taking in more animals with urgent medical needs.

Our general fund allows us to fill the gap, meet the need, and keep saying yes to animals who need us.

But right now, that fund is stretched dangerously thin. If we can’t make up some of this deficit, we may have to consider going on an intake hold, meaning we would have to turn away animals who need our help.

Dear Future Family,

I hope you’re prepared to fall ridiculously in love with me.

My name is McGriddle, and I’m a sweet, gentle brown tabby with a few very important talents:

🥄 I bring my foster mom a SPOON when I’m hungry. Yes, really.
🎶 I like to sing along when my humans sing.
🐾 I make biscuits in bed, but I’m polite enough not to wake you.
👀 I’ll happily supervise whatever you’re doing from a cozy spot nearby.
❤️ And once I love you, I really love you.

I’m friendly with just about everyone I meet and love being close to my people without needing to be the center of attention 24/7. I’m basically the perfect mix of affectionate, independent, smart, and wonderfully weird.

I do need a prescribed GI diet to keep my tummy happy, and I’d prefer to be your one and only pet. But trust me… I have more than enough personality to fill the whole house.

So, Future Family, if you’re looking for a sweet little shadow who will serenade you, make you biscuits, and personally deliver silverware when dinner is running late…

Meet Charleston Chew! 🤎🐾

Charleston Chew, affectionately known as Charlie, Bean, or Mr. Bean, is a professional napper, certified goofball, and full-time people lover.

Charlie can—and will—fall asleep just about anywhere. Once he finds a comfy spot, consider him officially off duty. Couch? Yep. Bed? Absolutely. Kitchen chair? Apparently perfect. Ridiculous sleeping position that looks wildly uncomfortable? Even better. 😂

When he’s awake, Charleston wants to be wherever his people are. He loves being picked up, brushed, cuddled, and included in whatever you’re doing. He’d be especially happy in a home where someone is around often and ready to give him plenty of attention.

Don’t let all that snoozing fool you, though! Charlie has a playful side and loves kicker toys, scratching posts, interactive feeding balls, and, of course, a little catnip. Afterward, he’s more than happy to wind down with a good brushing session and another very important nap.

Charleston enjoys feline companionship and could happily share his home with another cat. He hasn’t lived with kids before, but would likely do well with respectful children who are happy to give him plenty of love. His feelings about dogs are still TBD.

If your dream cat is equal parts cuddle buddy, comic relief, and sleepy little shadow, Mr. Bean might just be your guy. 🤎
