Doberman Rescue Minnesota DRM is an all volunteer, nonprofit 501C, charitable organization founded in 1999. We are dedicated to all homeless Dobermans and finding the best possible home for all Dobermans that come into our adoption program. The decisions and recommendations regarding surrendering or adopting a Doberman are based primarily on what is in the best interest of the dog and are guided b

y many years of experience with this special breed. We care as much about the quality of life for all Dobermans in our program as we do our own dogs. Every Doberman that comes into our program is considered a "lucky Doberman" as they do find a loving forever home. DRM is dedicated to each and every dog that comes through our program for the dogs entire life, no matter what, per our adoption contract. Dobermans in our foster program live in private homes with foster families who evaluate the Doberman for temperament and behavior traits, give them structure and play and interact with them. so we can make recommendations on the best type of home for our dogs. To adopt, we do have specific adoption requirements for adopters, and do require a home visit by one of our dedicated volunteers prior to adoption to ensure all our dogs are going to safe forever homes. Doberman Rescue Minnesota is committed to teaching about responsible pet ownership and the Doberman breed. We do know this breed is not for everyone, Dobermans can have super high energy release requirements, extraordinary intelligence that needs stimulation and are demanding dogs, in your face, that require a strong leader, willing to work and socialize them every day to be the magnificent. Flanagan (“Flan”)

Meet Flanagan, a sweet, gentle soul who’s come a long way since entering rescue. After battling a serious infection early on, Flan has made a full recovery and now enjoys good health and a clean bill from the vet.

Flan is a sensitive and affectionate Doberman mix who loves being part of family life. He’s especially fond of kids—his favorite buddy is his 7-year-old foster brother, with whom he enjoys playing cars, running in the yard, and snuggling up for bedtime stories. Flan also gets along with cats, though he’s still learning about sharing space and toys with them.

Playtime for Flan often includes gentle zoomies, solo toy time, or showing off his stuffed “lambchop” toy. He’s quiet around the house and well-mannered when left alone; he doesn’t need a crate and prefers curling up on a dog bed or blanket at night.

While still gaining confidence with new people and environments, Flan is making steady progress. Walks can be a bit intimidating for him, so a patient adopter who will continue his leash training and help him build courage with outside noises would be ideal.

Flan thrives with a predictable routine, positive reinforcement, and a calm environment, preferably one with a fenced yard where he can play and explore safely. He’ll do best with adopters who can continue basic obedience training and give him plenty of love, structure, and time to blossom.

Flanagan’s journey from hardship to healing has revealed what a loving, loyal companion he truly is. With kindness and patience, he’ll make an incredible addition to a family ready to meet him where he is and help him shine.

Meet Julius(Juju)! Julius is a handsome, fun-loving Dobie(melanistic)who’s as sweet as he is playful! He loves people and other dogs, and he’s always up for a good game of chase or tug with his dog friends. This tough chewer enjoys any toy he can really sink his teeth into and will happily join in playtime, with or without toys. At home, Julius thrives on routine. He’s crate trained but prefers when his humans are around, he can get anxious if left alone too long, so he’ll do best with someone home more often or willing to help him feel secure. He’s a smart boy who knows sit and is working on wait and shake . Julius loves car rides, snuggling up after playtime, and running around the yard, he’d do best in a home with a fenced yard and plenty of exercise. Meet Mama Dee Dee, a vibrant 4-year-old beauty who has traveled from Texas to find her forever home after successfully raising her puppies. With a courageous spirit, she overcame the challenges of homelessness to keep her babies safe. Dee Dee thrives with adults and children alike, and with gentle introductions, she gets along great with dogs. This energetic companion loves to run and play, but needs monitored playtime to ensure she stays balanced around other dogs. A home without cats would be paws-perfect for this lively lady.

Lena- our 1 year old Dobie mix girly girl is available for adoption 💜🐾
Her playful mouthiness and wanting to jump has improved a lot! She's still working on it but we've seen an improvement for sure. She is the most cuddly thing and is a little shadow, following us everywhere. She's suuuuuper goofy and silly! She LOVES food and loves cuddles. She would thrive with an older brother dog I think, she does EVERYTHING with resident boy Cas! She's been very good for baths!

Meet Ember!

Ember is a handsome, gentle 2 year old young Doberman with a heart full of potential. Found wandering the streets of Kansas alongside his sisters, Pearl and Sophie, Ember has come a long way from his uncertain beginnings.

Like his sister, Ember can be timid but submissive with new people or unfamiliar environments, but once he feels safe, his affectionate and playful side shines through. He adores following his person around and soaking up love and attention. Ember does well with the resident pets in his foster home (he knows them and feels comfortable), but he can be reactive toward unfamiliar dogs he sees. With continued positive reinforcement and structure, he’ll keep learning that the world isn’t such a scary place. He has been around two children (ages 8 and 11), and he absolutely adores playing and going on hikes with them.

Ember’s foster mom lives out in the country, but he’s ready to keep building on his progress with a family who can gently guide him forward. With patience and consistency, Ember will blossom into the loyal, loving companion every Doberman enthusiast dreams of.

If you have a kind heart and a little time to give, Ember will give you his whole world in return.
