Being of Service

You’ll hear me use that phrase quite a bit.

“We look forward to being of service.”

“Thank you for allowing us to be of service.”

“Honored to be of service.”

And while those words have become part of the way we communicate with our clients, they represent something much deeper here at Ridgeview Equine Transport.

Being of service is one of our core values.

When Erica and I were deciding what we wanted Ridgeview to be, a lot of that thinking came from our own experiences.

We’ve been the people handing our horses over to a transporter.

We’ve seen the things that made us feel comfortable — and the things that left us wondering what was happening with our horse.

And we kept coming back to one question:

If this were our horse, what would we want?

The answer wasn’t simply transportation.

It was service.

Because when you spend your hard-earned money on something, you’re not just paying for the product. You’re paying for the experience that comes with it.

Think about going to a restaurant. You’re not just paying for the food. You’re paying for someone to take care of you for a little while.

And yes, if you’ve ever been to Dick’s Last Resort in Vegas, that service apparently involves paying someone to be a complete 🍆 to you. 😂

But hey… that’s part of the experience too.

So we started looking at horse transportation the same way.

The actual hauling is only part of what we do.

How do we serve you while we’re doing it?

How do we serve your horse?

Do you know when we’re on our way?

Do you know when your horse has been loaded?

Do you know how they’re doing?

Do you know when something isn’t going according to plan?

And if something does happen, do you know what we’re doing about it?

That, to us, is service!

It’s listening.

It’s communicating.

It’s paying attention.

It’s recognizing that every horse is different and every owner has their own concerns.

It’s making sure that when your horse arrives, you don’t just know they made it from Point A to Point B.

You know they were cared for along the way.

Because we know what it feels like to be on the other side of that trailer door.

We know what it means to hand someone else the responsibility of caring for an animal that means an awful lot to you.

So when we tell you we’re honored to be of service, it isn’t something we say because it sounds nice.

We Mean It

We’re grateful that you trust us with your horses, your plans, and a little piece of your family.

Because at the end of the day, one of our core values is simple:

SERVE YOU

Thank you for letting us be of service to you!!

When Joel said we were heading down south to move some horses, I didn’t realize we’d be passing right through my old stomping grounds. On incredibly short notice, we were able to squeeze in a visit with some of the amazing people who played such a huge role in my early riding years.

Not everyone is pictured here, but these women (and many others) gave this horse-crazy kid countless rides to and from the barn, trusted me to ride and learn on their own horses, fed me more dinners than I can count, and gave me a community I didn’t even realize I needed.

They are a huge part of the reason Ridgeview Equine exists today.

They nurtured the horse-obsessed girl in me, encouraged me through the hard days, celebrated the good ones, and never stopped believing in me. More than that, they showed me the kind of barn culture I wanted to create someday—a place built on support, mentorship, friendship, and a shared love for our horses.

It’s my hope to pass along even a small piece of what they gave me all those years ago.

It was so special to see these incredible women again, even if it was only for a quick visit while passing through. Sometimes the best surprises are the ones you never planned!!!

A little late on the posting, but the Ridgeview team had some fabulous rides at the Raised Right Ranch Dressage Schooling Show!

Despite the wild winds, our horses and riders showed off all the hard work they’ve been putting in. I’m so proud of every team for staying positive, riding through the wild weather, and making the most of the day.

A very special congratulations to Kendra and Kanu on their first show together! You two have come such a long way, and it has been so rewarding to watch your partnership grow. I can’t wait to see what the future holds for you both!!
