Whisker Bay doesn't want to taco 'bout how he has been in his foster home since January and hasn't had any nibbles from potential adopters. He isn't salty about it, but he was hoping to find his forever family by now.

In queso you didn't know, he is nacho average pup. He will guac your world, with his loyal and sweet nature. Once he gets to know you, he will be jalapeno business. He will be the chip to your salsa, the taco to your burrito, rice to your beans.

In the coming days, WHS will welcome 150 beagles from Ridglan Farms, as part of a national effort to rescue and rehome 1,500 dogs. This endeavor is being led by Big Dog Ranch Rescue and the Center for a Humane Economy, and other partners, including the Dane County Humane Society, Wisconsin Federated Humane Societies, Wisconsin Puppy Mill Project, Inc, and other Wisconsin animal welfare groups.

This is how you can help:
🐾 Become a foster family!
If you are not yet an approved foster family, start that process directly from our website at wihumane.org/foster/apply 👈

🐾 A single intake of 150 dogs will require some extra resources.
If you are able to donate supplies, you can do so from our Wishlist at: https://wihumane.me/WHSAmazonWishlist or by dropping off supplies at any of our locations.

🐾 Those interested in making a donation to help these animals can do so online at https://wihumane.me/Beagles2026 👈

The beagles cared for by WHS will be available for adoption once they are medically and behaviorally cleared. Those interested in adoption should review the adoption process at www.wihumane.org/adopt in the coming days and weeks.

Community support truly makes it possible for WHS to help large-scale rescues like this, and we couldn’t be more proud to be part of an effort making a difference for animals and the people who love them.
Thank you! ❤️

Bio:

Meet Scout. He has spent most of his life in a shelter in Texas. He is a fun, sweet, loving, smart heeler mix. He has a playful side where he throws toys around but most of the time he just wants to sleep and snuggle!

He’s doesn’t mind his kennel at all! Does so well going potty outside, knows sit command, working on shake. Very food motivated! After being in the shelter so long, he’s learning household manners like not jumping on the table or trying to steal food from the hands of the kids. He does have a bit of the heeler herding in him that comes out when he gets excited and is playing. But he’s really such a well behaved dog. He spends most of his time curled up on the couch. He has so much love to give.

Hi there! My name is Ernie, and I’m on the lookout for my real forever family this time.

I was born in July 2025 down in Texas, starting life as a street pup before making my way to a shelter. From there, I traveled all the way to Wisconsin, where I landed in a foster home and was quickly adopted. Sadly, things didn’t work out like we hoped, so now I’m back in foster care, still believing my perfect match is out there.

I may be young, but I’ve already had quite the journey… and I’m ready to finally settle down.

A little about me: I’ve got a BIG personality packed into this handsome body. I love to “talk,” and yes, my bark is loud and deep… it might sound intimidating at first, but it usually turns into me asking for love and attention. I’m a total softie underneath it all.

I also like to gently guide your hand to where I want pets (I know what I like!) and I’m a big fan of hugs… maybe too big of a fan, but I’m working on keeping all four paws on the ground.

The good stuff:

*I know how to sit and lay down

*I go into my kennel when asked

*I’m smart and eager to learn

*I have so much potential (my foster says so!)

What I’m still working on: I’ll be honest… I’m a bit of a work in progress right now.

New people and situations can make me nervous, and I use my big bark to cope. I also like to show other dogs that I’m the “tough guy,” but once I feel safe, my sweeter, calmer side really starts to shine.

Sharing is new to me too, so I’m learning that I don’t have to guard my things anymore. It’s a process, but I’m trying!

What I need:

*A patient, understanding family

*Someone willing to continue my training

*A calm, structured home where I can build confidence

*Lots of love (seriously, I thrive on it)

I might not be perfect right now, but I promise I’m worth it. With the right person by my side, I know I can grow into the best dog I’m meant to be.

So… what do you think? Could you be my forever?

— Ernie 🐶💛
