🎃🐾 Happy Halloween from Almost Home Cat Rescue MKE! 🐾🎃

Wishing all our supporters, adopters, fosters, volunteers, and feline friends a fun and safe Halloween!

While you're enjoying the costumes, candy, and festivities, remember that Halloween can be a stressful time for pets. Keep cats safely indoors, provide a quiet place away from trick-or-treaters, and be sure to keep candy—especially chocolate and xylitol-containing treats—out of reach.

👻 Black cats are beautiful year-round and deserve all the love, not just during spooky season!
🧡 Every cat deserves a safe, loving home.

Thank you for helping us give homeless cats a second chance at a happily ever after.

Have a purr-fectly spooky Halloween! 🎃🐱🕸️

Fundraising Friday: Why Monthly Donors are Important

Becoming a monthly donor helps us cover the most important and consistent expense — keeping the doors open for rescue cats.

Your monthly support helps provide:

🏠 Rent for the rescue space
Keeps our cage-free rescue facility open so cats have a safe place to stay while they wait for adoption.

💡 Utilities
Electricity, heat, water, and climate control to keep cats comfortable and healthy year-round.

🧼 Cleaning & sanitation supplies
Essential products needed to maintain a safe and healthy environment for cats.

🐱 Daily care for the cats
Food, litter, enrichment toys, and supplies used every day.

🩺 Medical care support
Vaccines, medications, and routine veterinary care for incoming rescue cats.

🛠 Facility maintenance
Repairs and upkeep to ensure the rescue remains a safe environment.

📦 Emergency preparedness
Monthly support helps create stability so we can respond quickly when cats in crisis need help.

💛 Why Monthly Donations Matter
Monthly donors provide predictable, reliable support, allowing us to:
✔ Plan ahead financially
✔ Rescue more cats
✔ Maintain a safe facility
✔ Focus on lifesaving work instead of constant emergency fundraising

Even small monthly donations make a big difference:

💛 $10/month – Helps cover cleaning supplies
💛 $25/month – Helps provide food & litter
💛 $50/month – Helps support medical care
💛 $100/month – Helps keep the rescue doors open

Behind the Scenes: Community Event Volunteers 🐾

It starts before anyone even sees us.
Cars packed with tables, merch, supplies—everything needed to turn an empty space into something that catches your eye.

Booths go up, displays come together, and just like that… we’re ready.

Then the real part begins.
Conversations.
Sharing our story.
Talking about the cats.
Meeting people who had no idea we existed - until that moment.

Some stop for the cute merch.
Some stay to learn more.
Some come back later to adopt.

And when the event ends?
Everything gets packed up. Loaded out. Taken down piece by piece.

It’s a long day. It’s a lot of work.

But it’s how we get our name out there.
It’s how we raise funds.
It’s how we keep going. 💛

Join us in saving lives! From our cleaning crew to grant writing, find your place in our cage-free community and help every cat find their way to a forever home.
