Say hello to Olive—an adorable 14-month-old pug with a signature underbite and a personality to match! At about 20 lbs, this playful, curious, and affectionate girl is ready to find her forever home ❤️

Olive is a toy-loving, ball-obsessed pup who turns everything into a game. Fetch is her favorite, and she also enjoys chew toys, lick mats, and tasty treats. When playtime is over, you’ll find her posted up on the back of the couch, keeping watch and alerting you to anything interesting outside 👀

She adores people and thrives on attention, though she may be a little shy at first. Give her a little time, and her fun, mischievous puppy personality will shine! Olive would do best with a family who will continue building her confidence and providing structure.

🎇Here is a list of some of the Fireworks in CT starting this weekend 🎆

🎆 Fireworks season is starting across Connecticut, and while we may enjoy the celebrations, many dogs do not.

CT Dog Gone Recovery wants to remind everyone to please keep your dogs SAFE during fireworks season. Loud noises can cause even the calmest dogs to panic and run.

🐾 Keep dogs INSIDE during fireworks🐾 Create a quiet, safe space for them at home🐾 Keep windows, doors, and gates secure🐾 Walk dogs BEFORE fireworks begin🐾 If outside, ALWAYS keep dogs leashed🐾 Never assume your dog “won’t run”🐾 Make sure collars, tags, and microchip information are up to date

Sadly, every year many dogs go missing after being startled by fireworks. A few extra precautions can save lives and prevent heartbreak.

Please help us spread awareness and keep Connecticut dogs safe this summer. ❤️🐶

It's a match! Kernal was one of the 10 dogs who came to us on Pumba’s Paws Pet Transportation from Pug Nation. He went a little further east to his foster to adopt family, and he passed his trial period with flying colors! His 2 new sisters tell the story best!

"He is the world’s greatest snuggler, matches our energy, and the best white noise machine. He spends half of his days asleep upside down on the couch and the other half zooming around the house saying hello to anyone who walks by."

Ripley has been adopted! Serendipity was at play when it was determined that Ripley was not the best fit in his foster to adopt home with their older more mellow girl. Turns out PRoNE alumni Brutus' adopters were looking for a playmate for him and had their eye on Ripley. When the boys started running and playing in the huge back yard during the meet and greet, it was clear that Ripley had found his place. They have spent some time getting to know each other and they were spied on the nest cam snuggling right after their mom left for work. Brutus is sharing his beds, toys and parents like the sweet little man he is and we are so excited for this bond to grow deeper over the years. Special thanks to Ripley's fosters who did an amazing job getting him through the transition and teaching him how to be in a family.

We just don't see the volume of stray pugs here in New England like they do out west. It's a mercy that it is a rarity for us. To think of Ripley and the others who are found wandering the street with no one coming to claim them make it into their new homes with families who love and want them really does mean so much. It keeps us going and motivates us to continue helping in whatever ways that we can. Thank you to the families who meet them where they are and pledge to love them and keep them safe.

This week’s spotlight has landed on our newest friend, Bunsen, whom we had the pleasure of transporting to Pug Rescue of New England. This little man is all of 5-years-old with more cuteness than one can handle. He is loyal, playful, adaptable, friendly and curious. He’s also a boy who enjoys hikes, chew toys, and snuggling with his people. Baby Bunsen does well on leash, rides calmly in a car (we can attest to that!) and is still working on potty training. He does tend to cower when a hand goes over his head (such as when putting on a harness) and loud noises can sometimes startle him. As his confidence grows, there is hope these sensitivities will fade. Bunsen is learning basic commands, but like most Pugs, he is highly motivated by praise and treats!
Bunsen is a great little boy and deserves a second chance at his forever home. Talk to our friends at Pug Rescue of New England for more info!
