Recently, we said goodbye to two very special souls.
Percy truly made himself at home with us, after he was found as a stray and never claimed. He was one of our longer term kitties and many will remember him as our cat that claimed the front counter as his favorite resting spot, greeting staff and visitors alike in his own calm, watchful way. He loved sitting on laps and gave the best head boops.
Gamma first came to us intact and in need of a dental - we were hopeful we could get him feeling his very best. Despite our efforts, his bloodwork never improved the way we’d hoped. Through it all, he remained gentle and trusting. Some of his favorite pasttimes included yelling at us for treats and drinking out of the toilet.
Despite us doing all we could to treat their separate ailments, over time, it was decided it was in their best interest to help them cross the rainbow bridge. They were surrounded by love, spoken to softly, and cared for every step of the way.
Gamma and Percy left paw prints not only on our hearts, but on many of our clients and volunteers as well. We are grateful to have been trusted with their care in their final chapter.
Run free, sweet boys. 🌈🐾
