Today we had the pleasure of seeing sweet Max for his recheck. 🐾

He initially presented a month ago after sustaining injuries in a dog fight, including the loss of a canine tooth that required surgical closure. During his workup, we also identified a heart murmur that needed further attention. We’re happy to report that his cardiac condition is now being managed, and his oral site has healed beautifully.

It’s truly been a pleasure caring for Max! ❤️

A silly little post to celebrate my anniversary as a US licensed veterinarian 🥳

Even though I graduated vet school 5 years earlier, nothing really prepares you for those first weeks as a solo doctor. The cases I saw early on were WILD - a true trial by fire. I’d come home, take off my scrubs, and just cry. It was overwhelming, even though I thought I was ready. My camera roll is my witness and even my staff called me a black cloud - sooo many “zebra” cases in a very short period of time. It was truly a sink or swim experience but now I’m glad that’s the way it went.

I have my amazing boss/mentor and my incredible support staff to thank - I couldn’t do any of this without them.

I also basically stopped posting once I got licensed. It was too much, and I was worried about saying the wrong thing. But I’m starting to enjoy it again, and if sharing my story helps even one other foreign vet or makes one tired vet med professional chuckle, that’s kinda the entire point. 🫶

Funny enough, I started the year set on surgery. Now my schedule is all internal medicine and ER/urgent care… and I think that might actually be my thing. Still figuring it out, but I’m excited to see where it goes.

I love my job, my coworkers, and I love my patients and my clients. I’m so grateful for everything this past year’s brought me and life feels good now.

All that in just one year. What’s next??? :)))

Finally got the photos developed!!!

Thank you to everyone who celebrated me finally earning my American DVM license and to all of you who supported me through the wild ride to get here. There were plenty of hoops to jump through (some on fire - I’m looking at you, ECFVG and NAVLE), but the circus show is officially over.

It meant the world to celebrate this milestone with so many incredible people I’ve met along the way - the ones who cried, laughed, and stayed in touch through the years. From the bottom of my clownish heart, thank you. ❤️
