July 4th and surrounding days often cause a huge increase in missing pets. 💔 Here are some tips to keep your pets safe during the fireworks:
Set up a safe space in your home where your pets can retreat if they feel scared. Include favorite toys and blankets -- puzzle toys or long-lasting chews can help them stay distracted.
Keep pets indoors. Get that long walk out of the way before peak fireworks hours, and secure doors, windows, and pet flaps to prevent any escapes.
Consider using products like calming collars, anxiety wraps, or pheromone diffusers to help ease their anxiety. If your pet has severe anxiety, talk to your vet about possible medications to help keep them calm.
