It’s the season… for TICKS!
I’m sure you’ve heard it from your neighbor, your friend, and even better, your veterinarian, that the ticks are REALLY bad already! And it’s absolutely TRUE! The exposure to ticks is all year round. They do not hibernate in the winter and die off during a deep freeze. Ticks are resilient and they’re finding their way around all of the seasons but spring and summer is when they thrive!
Three tick-borne illnesses that are significant to animals & humans include:
🐾 Lyme Disease: carried by the Black Legged Tick/ Deer Tick
🐾 Anaplasmosis: carried by the Black Legged Tick
🐾 Ehrlichiosis: carried by the Lone Star Tick
The only TRUE ways to prevent these illnesses and a tick adhering to your pets is getting them on prevention. Between topicals, chewable and now injections, it is possible to protect your dog and cats from ticks! We carry a few options in clinic and a plethora of options on our online store! Also, a tick on your pet is NOT an emergency. Ticks can be pulled off by pet owners safely. Testing can be done when you need it as well to ensure your pet is safe and isn’t already infected.

We wanted to take a moment to congratulate our two high school co-ops on their graduation from high-school! They attended Midland High! After or before school, they came to work with us! 🎊 We’ve spent a full school year getting to know them and we love them so much! We are beyond proud of their accomplishments and all they’ve learned between school and skills from our clinic! 🐾

🤍 Cameron, (our afternoon co-op) is hardworking, a dog magnet and a blast to work with! Cameron enjoys all of the aspects of veterinary medicine but he plans to attend Delta College after graduation to pursue a degree in Cyber Security!

🤍 Our morning co-op plans to attend college to pursue her veterinary degree! She is kind, friendly and enjoys veterinary medicine.

We appreciate all the hard work our co-ops put into making our workplace a safe, clean and welcoming environment! They are both wonderful individuals and we wish nothing but the very best for their future endeavors! 🐾
