nd a support organization that will meet the highest standard of treatment and rehabilitation for horses that have been neglected, abused or abandoned. We believe that caring for animals or fellow humans in need is morally right and personally rewarding.

I am a high school junior who has grown up as an army child. I have been around horses my entire life, and take care of our family’s farm. Because I love all animals, I hope to one day be a veterinarian. I enjoy helping at the Wiregrass Horse Sanctuary and Rescue and caring for the horses.

With your support, we can help abused and neglected horses in Alabama! We work directly with law enforcement agencies in lower Alabama to help rehabilitate abused horses. Once they are recovered, we adopt them out to forever homes.

Volunteer Spotlight! Meet Joyce!

I’m a lifelong horse girl, grew up in the Wiregrass and recently moved back. I had horses as a kid, rode competitively in college and have always volunteered with therapeutic horseback riding. I work in digital marketing and occupational therapy, so I love this chance to get outside and help care for these very special horses.
