The 2024-2025 season was fantastic for MKPH - our teams and their horses worked hard and it absolutely paid off!

Here is a recap from our awards banquets across the saddle clubs from this season, from WOHA, DBSC and DCSC. To say that I’m proud just isn’t enough; the hours and hours of practice in the saddle, the long nights and early mornings, the camaraderie, sportsmanship and horsemanship developed all culminated into a heck of a season.

A handful of awards I’d like to note from this season: Sarah Ruiz won her first belt buckle and then brought home a second for the season. Rylan Gilbert and Mary Kilpatrick brought home overall high point saddles and in two seasons, Rylan has accumulated a total of 12 buckles with the mare we took a chance on. Natalie Gilbert won Rookie of the Year and Megan Adams won Most Improved. All of our riders (even our tireless, hardworking and supportive dads were recognized!) brought home something from this season. It’s great to see our efforts be recognized by the awesome clubs we have locally.

Here’s to another great season of showing and training horses!

MKPH had a GREAT show at the annual Autumn Classic Charity Show in GA this weekend! We love coming to this show and look forward to it every year at one of our favorite facilities. Their show staff and volunteers are wonderful and took every precaution in keeping things sanitized and as safe as possible for each competitor and their equine partners. Competition was stiff as usual, but our horses showed up and showed out! Proud of our MK horses and riders this season, now it’s time to take a break for the rest of the year 🙌🏻

Yesterday was the last Dale County show of the season and it was a great way to end the year!!

Kodak, Rosie, Mel and I pulled high-point adult champion for the Monster Mash series, we won 4 1sts, 4 2nds and 3 3rds at this show. We’ve had ups and downs but every rider continues to grow as a team and that’s all we can ask for! Rylan and Mel snagged the high-point youth at this series, bringing their winning season to an incredible close!

Audrey returned to the show ring for the first time in 2 years with Wren - they snagged 2 2nds and a 5th! Megan and June are really making strides and with a few tweaks, they’re going to be a tough team. Scout brought home her first blue ribbon with Rylan piloting her to a win in the ranch walk trot class - they even beat me and Rosie! (It’s okay, I trained that horse and the kid too 🤣) Sarah came out to support Audrey but unfortunately her horse wasn’t feeling her best to show yesterday. Natalie added another class to her lineup and did a great job! Camryn and Wally won all but one of their classes yesterday - this team is finally putting it all together and it shows 💅🏻

We are already looking forward to the next season and can’t wait to see how it goes! Great job MKPH riders and horses, we have had a GREAT year 🤩

Another Saturday, another show day! 3/4 Monster Mash Series shows are in the books and today was a great day for MKPH! It started a bit chilly but warmed up just enough for the perfect show weather 🥰

I brought home 5 firsts, a second, 2 thirds and a fourth. Rylan and Natalie both decided to take Scout for a spin and had great rides! Megan and June had one of their best shows yet as far as rides go, they’re really starting to put the pieces together which is what I love to see! Sarah brought her new girl Pixie out for a spin and did a great job with her. Excited about this new team!

When you love what you do, it sure makes getting up and getting out there much easier 💕

Late post but better than a never posted recap 😝

Dale County’s fun show series is such a great place to learn and hone skills! So proud of our horses and riders, they’re doing a great job and improving every time we go to town.

Shout out to Natalie Gilbert - this was her first time ever showing (though she’s watched Rylan plenty) AND on a horse she’s never ridden before! Natalie piloted Scout to a solid 2nd place finish in the adult walk trot class (behind me and Mel 💅🏻🤩)

Only a couple more trips to complete this fall series of shows - eager to see how we wind up!

It was an absolutely beautiful day to show some horses with Dale County!

Got my cool buckle cup from winning the Summer Series and got a good start towards the Monster Mash series!

Kodak and I won the Adult Quarter Horse Halter, Rosie and I won the Horsemanship and Mel and I won the Adult Walk Trot 🥰 we pulled some good rides and pulled some okay moments out of the bad rides but it was a great day to be in the saddle regardless.

Rylan and Cam had great rides too! Rylan won the trail and his youth classes with Mel, while Cam and Wally stole the show in her youth classes too. Catch us at the next Monster Mash Show!

Wrapped up the AOHA State Championship show this weekend - couldn’t have asked for better weather! Usually this show is the hottest of the season but we had a fall kind of weekend 🙌🏻

We each had some great rides and placed well in our heats, but unfortunately not well enough for call backs. Kodak and I’s showmanship pattern could have (and should have - he practiced better than we showed) been better but it can be chalked up to having a yearling competing against seasoned, much older horses. I can’t complain, because my boy held his own and gave me his best anyway and I am so proud of him. Come his 2 year old year, he’s going to be that much tougher to beat, so y’all just watch out for Kodak - he’s coming for ya 💕

MK Deja Boone and Mary Kilpatrick
- 4th place in 1 and Under Western Halter
- 9th place in 2 and Under Western Halter

Notice This Impulse and Camryn Governale
- 9th place in Youth Halter
