🐾💔 Li-Li is Still Waiting… 💔🐾

Some dogs come to us with wagging tails and hopeful eyes…
and some arrive carrying heartbreak we can’t fully put into words.

Li-Li is one of those souls. 💔

She is a tiny Shih-tzu/Lhasa Apso mix who once knew what it meant to be deeply loved. She had a home. She had a person. She had a life that felt safe.

But everything changed when her owner was deported and was not allowed to take Li-Li with her. There was no choice, no goodbye that felt complete… just a final, heartbreaking request:

“Please… find her a loving home.” 💔

Now Li-Li waits with us.

She is gentle. Quiet. Sweet beyond words. The kind of dog who doesn’t ask for much—just a soft voice, a warm lap, and someone who won’t leave her behind again.

She is scheduled to be spayed in early June, and then she will be ready for her next chapter… but she still needs help getting there.

🐾☕ A Day in the Life of a Rescuer ☕🐾

4:00 AM – Alarm goes off. Or maybe it was never set… because someone named Rusty was already barking for breakfast. 😴

4:07 AM – Begin preparing a gourmet senior dog buffet: soft food, hard food, mixed food, special kidney food, food hidden inside pills, and one bowl prepared exactly wrong according to a 9 lb supervisor. 🍽️🐶

4:30 AM – First potty parade of the day. Someone goes outside. Someone forgets why they went outside. Someone poops on the welcome mat out of spite. 💩

5:15 AM – Medications begin. Eye drops, heart pills, arthritis meds, probiotics, supplements, and one dramatic performance worthy of an Oscar because a pill touched someone’s tongue. 🎭

6:00 AM – Laundry load #1. Bedding, blankets, mystery towel, and whatever happened in the kitchen overnight. 🧺

7:30 AM – Phone rings: “Can you take my dog? He doesn’t fit my lifestyle anymore.”

8:00 AM – Email arrives: “Can you take my dog, she got old and we want a puppy now.”

8:05 AM – Deep breathing exercise. 🙃

9:30 AM – Load three dogs into the car for vet appointments. One gets carsick. One screams the song of her people. One acts like she’s never met me before. 🚗🐾

11:00 AM – At the vet explaining why this dog has 14 medications and why that one only eats if hand-fed while being complimented. 🩺

1:00 PM – Back home. Clean up surprise #2. Answer adoption emails. Return calls. Refill meds. Wonder what day it is. 📞💻

3:00 PM – Nap attempt. Denied by barking committee. 🚫😴

5:00 PM – Dinner service begins. Same buffet, different complaints. 🍽️

8:00 PM – Everyone finally settled… except the one staring at me from across the room because I forgot the bedtime cookie. 🍪👀

And tomorrow? We do it all again—because these seniors deserve love, safety, dignity, and someone who won’t give up when they get old.

Rusty is a sweet senior boy who is blind, deaf, and dealing with arthritis, but he still deserves safety, comfort, and dignity in his golden years. He enjoys quietly walking about and living life on his own terms.
