We continue to feature our dogs that have been here the longest at Project Hope. Sadie the bird dog is shown here in February, but she was adopted in the meantime and then brought back, no fault of her own. She currently weighs around 55 pounds. Sadie is around 3 years old and gets along great with the other dogs here. She has been spayed, vaccinated and microchipped and her adoption fee is only $100. We are set up in the parking lot at Thrive, ready to celebrate Dog Days! We're here from 10-2, selling T-shirts and raffle tickets. Music will start at 12 noon, and there are food trucks and local vendors!

We want to thank Coca-Cola Bottling Co. in Paducah for supplying the water and drinks for our Super-Fast and Furriest Car Cruise-In! The Cruise-In will be Saturday, September 12, from 4-8 p.m. on Market Street in Metropolis. Cars, music, food and local vendors!! Come on out and support Project Hope Humane Society!

PLEASE SHARE! This week we are trying to feature some of our dogs who have been here for several months. Let's share them and get them into loving homes!
Gordan has been here since February. He is an Aussie mix, around 2-years-old. Gordon was pulled from a kill shelter, and he is such a good boy! He likes other dogs, is a very energetic, and an oh-so-happy guy! He weighs 45 pounds and has been neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. His adoption fee is only $100. PLEASE SHARE!! Ernie has been at Project Hope for a year now!! Let's find him a home! Ernie is approximately 3.5 years old. Everyone thinks that he is an older dog when they first see him, because of the white on his face. Ernie is such a friendly dog! When the school children came from New Simpson Hill to visit, he let every one of them pet him and give him hugs!! He would be best in a home with no small dogs or cats. PLEASE SHARE! This unique and handsome boy needs a family- he has been with us now for several months! Sniffer is approximately 5 years old and was found as a stray. He has lots of energy and has gotten along well with the other dogs here. He has a very special nose, called Bifid nose and it makes him very cute. It does not cause him any issues. Remember the dog that was lost in Hospital Addition for 9 Days during the heat wave? Here is her story!
"A very shy dog was being brought to Project Hope Humane Society, but she unfortunately escaped as the transporter was trying to get her out of the car. She ran across highway 45 out behind Rick's Auto Sales and they lost sight of her. She is a lab or golden retriever mix. But much smaller, around 30 pounds. Wearing a red, white and blue collar with a tan flowered leash."
This was the message on Project Hope's page when Abby escaped. It took 9 days to catch her, with several people sighting her, but no one able to get close, until Sheree Gilbert brought her dog-friendly bulldog, Athena, with her to the last area she was sighted in. That's shown in the last picture, with Sheree holding Abby! She needs to be adopted by someone very familiar with shy dogs and ideally having another friendly dog who Abby could bond with.
