Meet Hudson! This is adorable one year old male was adopted and returned. But, it was no fault of his own. Just bad luck. He’s a lap cat who likes to lay on you with his paws stretched up on your chest!! He’s very sweet and handsome. He would love a home! Give us a call to inquire about him!!

This is Ebony and she needs your help!

Ebony was rescued today and she is going to need emergency surgery tomorrow. She has the same problem that poor little Sophie had (a kitty we rescued recently whose jaw we successfully fixed with your donations!!) Ebony’s chin is detached from her mouth so they will have to stitch it up tomorrow. She’s only 1 pound so she’s only 4 to 5 weeks old but she’s in a lot of pain and she can’t eat! Give NOLA Day is May 6th but online giving is already underway!

Metairie Kittens is a small family run rescue that helps the cats of Metairie and New Orleans! You can find our Venmo on the mobile Venmo app.

We rescue neighborhood cats, rehabilitate them, and find them a home. In the last year, we found 250 cats a home, did more then 100 trap, neuter, release for feral cats, saved 2 cats with FIP which would die without treatment, and found homes for special needs kitties with cerebella hyperplasia, feline leukemia, eye ulcers, and a dislocated jaw to name a few examples. Litter and food at the rescue costs $150 a day and the vet bills accumulated to $28,000 last year. The owner feeds 300 community cats at 70 locations at $150 a night which takes more than 5 hours. These cats could resort to eating garbage or starving if not offered a few bites of kibble once a day. These outside cats deserve our respect and love as members of our community.

In the post, we feature baby kitty Angel. Angel had to get eye surgery and is all healed up and ready to go to her forever home! She runs around and plays for hours. She is very sweet and high energy! Without the rescue, she would have had a very tough life on the street with an injured eye. We help cats like her year-round.

Sweet Sophie just came home from surgery. Everything went well. It will just be a challenge to feed her and keep the cone on. Thank you everyone that donated!!

4 week old sweet Sophie has an injury and she has to have surgery on Monday. Her chin is detached from lower part of her mouth and it has to be pulled forward and stitched up. Then hopefully it will attach and heal. The poor girl is only a pound and can only have gas for the procedure. We desperately need donations for her surgery which will be aprx $300.
