A Tail In Need Animal Rescue A Tail In Need is a nonprofit, family owned, and run organization that rescues kittens and cats by taking them off of the street.

We give them proper veterinary care, socialize them, and place them up for adoption to indoor only homes. During the week we are by appointment only. Meet and greets are scheduled after an application is approved. Please contact us at 504-234-4083 for any questions.

We are gettting a cat fence put up at the rescue so that the semi ferals and ferals can have a safe place to go outside. There are currently 30 living at the rescue(Amy’s house),once the fence is complete they will be able to access the backyard as well as the room and the catio. We wil be redoing the inside and are in need of new cat trees. Theirs have seen better days.. we have received one new one already.. we want to replace all of them and repaint…

If anyone wants to send them one they have some on our Amazon wish list that is posted or you can just chose one and send it to 6408 Kawanee Avenue. Needs to be a heavy duty bigger one because they destroy them quickly.

Lamberts, located at 3217 Canal St., permanently closed its doors this year. Unfortunately, when they left, four cats were abandoned without a feeder.

Lamberts had been a steady source of food for these cats for over four years. The four of them were left sitting on the porch waiting for someone to show up. We found two volunteer feeders, but one of them has moved and we desperately need another volunteer to fill her shoes.
