**Long post, but worth the read — because it directly impacts how Paws 4 A Cause can help dogs moving forward.**

We want to take a moment to address an important change regarding Maricopa County’s new policy surrounding New Hope rescues.

Because of this policy, **Paws 4 A Cause is no longer a New Hope rescue.** What this means is that we are no longer able to pull any dog from County that has been deemed “New Hope” by Maricopa County. 😞

We know many of you tag us, message us, and reach out when you see a dog in need at County. We see those dogs too. We wish more than anything that we could jump in and help when the community asks us to.

But legally, we are no longer able to pull New Hope dogs from County. 😐

That does not mean we are done helping.

It means we need to shift how we help — and we need our community now more than ever.

Our goal is to continue helping dogs who are seeking new homes **before they end up at County.** But in order to do that, we need help in three very important ways:

❤ 1. We need fosters. ❤

Paws 4 A Cause is not a brick-and-mortar rescue. We are 100% foster-based.

That means we do not have a facility where dogs can stay while they wait for adoption. Every dog we help needs a committed foster home.

Without fosters, we simply cannot say yes.

Fostering saves lives. It gives a dog a safe place to land, a chance to decompress, and the opportunity to find the right forever home.

Please consider fostering and being the reason a dog gets a second chance.

❤ 2. We need donations. ❤

Rescue takes heart, but it also takes resources.

Many of the dogs we help come with medical needs, behavioral needs, training needs, or basic care needs. Vet visits, food, supplies, medications, training, and transport all add up quickly.

Much like fosters, donations are what make it possible for us to continue helping homeless dogs.

Every dollar helps. Every donation matters.

❤ 3. Please consider adoption. ❤

We have wonderful dogs currently available for adoption who are waiting for their forever homes.

If you have been thinking about adding a dog to your family, please consider opening your heart and home to one of our adoptable dogs.

Adoption not only changes that dog’s life — it also opens a foster home so we can help another dog in need.

We know this change is difficult. It is difficult for us too.

But Paws 4 A Cause is still here. We are still committed. We still believe in saving lives. 💖

We just need our community beside us. 💞

Foster. Donate. Adopt. Share.

Together, we can continue making a difference for dogs who need us most.
