August 28 is Rainbow Bridge Remembrance Day — a time to honor and celebrate the pets who have crossed the Rainbow Bridge. Whether a loyal dog, a cuddly cat, or any special companion, they leave pawprints on our hearts forever. 💕
The day was founded by author Deborah Barnes as a way to share cherished memories of pets we’ve lost. The comforting “Rainbow Bridge” poem, written in 1959 by Edna Clyne-Rekhy while grieving her Labrador, Major, continues to bring peace to so many.
At Poplar Springs Animal Hospital, we know how deep the bond is between people and their pets. Saying goodbye is never easy, but please know—we are here for you when that time comes. 💙

Our mission at Poplar Springs Animal Hospital is simple: Make every Mississippi pet as happy and healthy as possible. How? By providing effective treatments and services that pets and their owners trust most. This rang true when we opened in 1983 and still rings true to this day. Whether it’s grooming, vaccines, acupuncture, or dental work, our caring staff goes above and beyond to put our clients first and create comfortable experiences from start to finish. We offer boarding, in-house surgeries, lab work, and X-rays, as well as supplies and medications from our sister store, Animal Medical Supply. Your pet is part of your family.
