Have you ever seen a day old chick? 🐣 Well now you have! This is a process we call “hatch assisting”. If a fertile egg has been abandoned, has a crack in it, or isn’t hatching properly we can step in and take extra care and precaution to safely and efficiently hatch the egg ourselves! 😲Thankfully our team at our Aviary has the proper skills to be able to do this process with 100% success rate! This adds a lot more time being spent feeding this Day 1 baby, instead of when we’d regularly pull a 3 week old baby from its nest, but no bird is too small for our care! 💙 This is one of the many things we do behind the scenes during our breeding season and why we ask for grace on response times during the season.
