The 4th of July is a blast for humans here in the Treasure Valley, but for our furry companions, it can be loud, confusing, and even scary. As you gear up for BBQs and fireworks, here’s how to keep your four-legged friend safe and calm:

🐾 Skip the Fireworks Close-Up – Dogs hear things 4x louder than we do! Keep them indoors during firework shows with soft music or white noise to help ease anxiety.
🐾 Keep ID Tags Updated – Fireworks can spook even the most chill pup. Make sure their collar has your current contact info, just in case.
🐾 Secure the Yard – Double-check fences and gates before the fun starts. A scared dog is more likely to try and bolt.
🐾 Watch the Grub – BBQs = food everywhere. Avoid sharing fatty meats, bones, or anything seasoned. And keep an eye out for dropped skewers, chocolate, or alcohol.
