✨ Can you guess what this puppy ate?✨

Meet Asher, a 3-month-old German Shepherd puppy who presented to WVRC for diarrhea, vomiting, and decreased appetite. Anytime we have a puppy present with those symptoms, parvovirus is always a great concern.
Thankfully, Asher's parvo test came back negative. Abdominal radiographs were then performed, which showed a round, ring-like foreign object!

Doctor Greer performed an abdominal exploratory surgery and removed the foreign object, which was the top of a Kong toy! Following the procedure, Asher was hospitalized on intravenous fluids and injectable medications and was able to go home the next day!🩷

A urinary blockage can become a serious emergency, especially in cats.

Straining to urinate, frequent trips to the litter box, crying while trying to urinate, or producing little to no urine can all be warning signs.

If your pet is showing signs of a urinary blockage, seek veterinary care right away. Prompt treatment can make a critical difference.

🐾 Patient Success Story🐾

Meet Tito Bonito, a 2-year-old Maine C**n with a taste for hair ties🎀

Tito has had two prior abdominal exploratory surgeries for hair tie ingestion, so when his owner heard him chewing on something in the corner, she sprang into action and brought him into WVRC!

Inducing vomiting in cats is not always as successful as it is in dogs. This is due to the different chemical receptors in cats' brains. Luckily for Tito, 15 minutes after giving the medication, he was able to successfully bring up the hair tie!
