I am very happy to have crossed a HUGE milestone here at Elysian Mushrooms! For us mushroom cultivators it's very important to keep something we call our "mushroom library". A single petri dish of mycelium (culture) contains its own genetics. That same culture can produce more genetics (offspring if you will) through the production of spores that come from the mushrooms. The purpose of our "mushroom library" is to accumulate different mushroom cultures with strong genetics. These genetics can pertain to things such as growth rate, fruit size, flavor and many others. In order for us to keep these genetics they must be properly stored. Agar slants are used for long term storage for the average mushroom cultivator. Agar slants are typically stored for up to 12 months or longer. I recently pulled out twelve agar slants from 10-30-22 and transferred them to clean petri dishes and all twelve cultures are growing well!! That's about 2 years and 7 months or so in storage!! I love working with mushrooms!!

Mushroom cultivation is by far one of my favorite things to get lost in!! I have old mushroom cultures I am going to revive from long term storage. A small and temporary lab set up here to get everything back into action! Very much looking forward to growing mushrooms again!!

ALSO!!!!!! I am extremely excited because Morel mushrooms were like a fairy tale to me. I have been searching for a very long time. Last season a friend of mine introduced me to my first ever morel mushroom. This year for my first time ever I FINALLY came across my own little spot! Dreams really do come true!

Everything we do here at Elysian Mushrooms is mainly focused on supporting small local business as well as our community. We utilize sustainable practices to build our structure. Mushrooms:
My interest in mushrooms stemmed through the world of plants. For many reasons I have always liked to grow my own food. Sharing healthy food with the people around me is a dream I have always had. Mushrooms are extremely beneficial in so many ways and counting! My goal is to dive deep into this industry and provide high quality mushroom products and offer access to my local community. I have personally been drinking coffee for easily over a decade. The quality of coffee DOES matter to me because I enjoy drinking it. I did some research to find something TRULY containing the quality I personally enjoy. This coffee is only of the highest quality amongst the world. The farms are locally ran (to their location) and are carefully chosen based off sustainability and farming process. The result is nothing but the best.
