Lazy X Heart Ranch Welcome to our ranch in Menoken, ND. We raise American Quarter horses and black Angus cattle.

We have been raising AQHA Performance horses since 1977 in Menoken, ND. We focus on breeding all-around horses that can be used all day on the ranch, barrel races, and shows. We currently stand Freckles Shining Ace (Palomino grandson of Shining Spark), RCOne Little Pepto (Sorrel son of One Time Pepto), and Shiver N Shine Two (Perlino son of Shake Shiver N Shine). We have a wide variety of broodmar

Introducing Jax!

Jax is a fancy smoky black c**t that is by Shiver N Shine Two. Sparky is by Shake Shiver N Shine who ​is an own son of Shining Spark and earner of $5,564 and 217.5 AQHA Open Performance Points. Shake Shiver N Shine earned AQHA Performance ROM and was an AQHA World Qualifier in senior heeling, tie down roping, and junior team roping. On the bottom side he is Jessie Tivio bred.

Jax's dam, Janie Peptoboon Evan (Janie), is by Peptolena Boy by Peptoboonsmal out of a daughter of Catalena Son Evans. Janie is the dam to the MT stallion Blue Peptolena and presently showing LXH Cutters Queenie.

Jax is going to be super athletic and versatile in whatever direction you put him in.

Our Story

Raising AQHA Performance horses since 1977

Daymon and Lois Mills started ranching out of Lazy X Heart Ranch in 1977, originally they mainly had cattle, with quarter horses to tend them. Over the years, they have went on the focus more on breeding tried and true working horse bloodlines. A couple years ago, they received an award from the American Quarter Horse Association for raising c**ts for over 25 years.
