Does anybody recognize this dog? This was the callout I gave yesterday on Facebook which tends to be more local outreach in this area…..

This dog started walking up our driveway which is very far off the country road as if he was “home“ …we are hoping that it was a dog that was owned by a loving family and is lost his way so we are reaching out to local rescues, vet offices, facebook groups, etc to see if anybody recognizes him and if they will claim him ….
He is a VERY large 4 -5 year old neutered lab mix male. I am praying he is not a product of the unfortunate reality of rescues….With “ notority”, we also get the brunt of reality …..This may be a one off and hopefully not the start of us being a dumping ground for unwanted dogs…. we are not staffed or prepared for that at this time ….

Dogs are dumped at vets offices at shelters at shopping centers, and at rescues all over the country … shelters are overcrowded, euthanizing dogs daily and rescues are desperately trying to help in any way they can … Money is just a part of the solution but it’s not everything ….
A “ friend “recently said to me …. “but Jenn, you would never have had this much “attention” without this recent tragic event”……

But what no one really understands and the people that are not in the non profit business of saving animals is this…..the “attention”….. the attention can bring monetary support but is also brings crisis of animal rescue right to your door step …. that also comes with “notoriety” …..this is side of rescue that people that are not in the day to day grind of it do not understand ….there is an over abundance and overpopulation of dogs that are getting dumped …. everywhere …. we now may have been added to that list …. We will do what we can and are able to help this desperate need that is a reality across the county …. we will take in this big yellow dog until we find his owner or we find him his second chance ….

Now, back to business …….does anyone recognize this dog? please spread the word …

Eloise (Lulu)  Peck was a bright, joyful spirit who brought warmth and laughter into every life she touched. At just eight years old, her profound love and compassion for animals shone brightly, reflecting the purity and kindness of her heart. She started a dog walking service this summer with 25% of her earned proceeds going to Blueberry Hill Farm and Rescue.
In honor of Lulu’s beautiful life and the extraordinary love she held for animals, Blueberry Hill Farm and Rescue has established this memorial fund. Your generous donation will continue Lulu’s legacy by helping to provide care, love, and support to animals in need.  Missy and Tim will be notified when a donation has been made.

Together, we will keep Lulu’s memory alive, nurturing hope and healing for animals.  Lulu’s name will forever live on at BHFAR with a newly constructed shelter officially being named Lulu’s Puppy Hut.  This shelter will provide much-needed warmth, safety, and a loving place for our foster puppies to stay until we find their forever homes …We will cherish our sweet Lulu, her name and her love of animals daily here at our rescue farm 💙🫐💙
In lieu of sending flowers or in addition to sending flowers, the family has asked that you consider helping us keep Lulu’s memory alive… Missy has asked that we move forward with thoughts of LIVING FOR LULU 💞💞

Our favorite little Blueberry Ambassador Lulu Rogers Peck is pounding the pavement , literally!

She started a dog walking service this summer and has amazingly offered to share 25% of the proceeds to Blueberry Hill Farm and Rescue. 💙🫐💙
Eric dropped off some blueberries to them yesterday in Dallas and picked up our first $20 bucks!!!
Whoop Whoop!🙌🏼
When we moved to the south from NYC I was always so amazed and impressed on how philanthropic southerners were… Dallas is the home to some of the MOST generous and giving people I am honored to know …..I feel like I learned to be more “giving” by being surrounded and in the company of our friends in Dallas ….Many of these friends we consider family and are ( as my southerns would say ) are blessed to have them in our lives 🥺
Thank you Lulu and keep up the good work ! We love how much you love animals and we love you and the entire Rogers and Peck family so much!!

Thank you to our youngest and most important donor ! 🚶🐶

Our first Teddy Bear fund recipient!

Please meet sweet Lacy and her new babies. We received word that a local dog parent needed help. Their dog Lacy went into labor and only delivered one pup and could not deliver any more on her own 🥺. Her babies were “ stuck”…. She was in labor for over 6 hours and needed an emergency c section or she would die in labor….

…Here is the issue in this scenario …. Money …
We have a loving dog owner that loves their pet and would do anything for them but they are stuck when they don’t have money… Vet offices will NOT schedule a surgery without funding or proof of funding…. You hear this at first and it a little shocking because an animals life is at stake but we have to understand it from the vet’s office prospective… They are a business and they do the best they can to help the community and animals when they can.

What I have heard one vet’s office here say is that they would offer free euthanasia in this scenario 🥺so the animal does not suffer…🥺That is the best they can do in a scenario like this.

This dog was this person’s baby 😢😢
They simply could not afford the surgery this dog needed …
THIS is why we created the TEDDY BEAR fund …. Teddy would be proud 🥲 of all of us for helping this mama dog …

We sponsored the emergency c section surgery and we had Lacy spayed in the process so this will be her last litter of pups… She is now able to live happily ever after with her owner…
When I first talked to the person about Lacy ( we are keeping them anonymous for privacy) they called me a hero …
I am not the only hero is this story … You all, our friends that donated are the hero’s and you are all apart of Lacy’s happily ever after story …
Thank you 🙏🏼 from the bottom of our hearts 💙
