Magic hour on the moon.

Look at that handsome “Broke to Ride” getting some shoes on. Trey the Navajo gentler is working with him and is a little tender footed so we are giving him some protection. We found his hidden trauma and are currently rewriting his program, smoothing out his sharpe points. People that are unskilled sadly instill jagged programs in horses and don’t know how to fix their mistakes. I feel it’s one of the biggest reasons people give horses up. They themselves hit a wall. They blame it on the horses limited capacity but really it’s an operator error. I have never met a broken horse. Only humans that don’t understand themselves. I love bringing the misunderstood under our wing to help them settle and get another chance to relearn a skill they were never given the chance to learn from a skilled consistent hand. Giving them a chance to grow.

Some horses truly blow me away that they got as close as they do to the slaughter truck. This being is no exception. One man’s trash is this girls absolute treasure.

This guy is not available. He has been through enough. He will stay in sanctuary. That is our gift to him. ❤️

Zanzibar says “Hi. Aren’t I the handsomist!”

Zebras are amazing. Not at all what people warned me they would be like. All the boys on the Moon were hand raised in some capacity so it’s sure to be the reason they are so sweet. Zanzibar did not show up this way. He was pushy and bitey and kicky lol. But we worked with him. Constantly reinforcing personal space and connection with love. Working the Moon trainer Ashely though really tipped his behavior over the edge and it as like one big out breath for him. When they are happy they are calm and easy going. I will tell you this though, if there is a weak spot in a fence, the baby zebras will be happy to show you. We love our clever zebra crew on the Moon.

Also with exotics like zebras, we conduct f***l tests every month to make sure parasites are monitored. That’s important for zebras especially and all our babies on the Moon.
