Keep the Care Going ❤️
We have some of the best adopters, fosters, volunteers, transporters, trainers, and a photographer we could ask for. You’ve been giving your time, opening your homes, getting dogs where they need to go, helping them learn, and taking photos that give people a chance to see what we see in them.
And to everyone helping behind the scenes—we see how much you’re doing, too. A lot of that work never makes it into a Facebook post, but we know it’s happening. We don’t take any of you for granted, even if we don’t say it enough: Thank you.
We’ve also built partnerships to help us care for our dogs and get them into the homes they deserve. We’re grateful to have people working alongside us.
We remain supportive of other rescues, too. The rescue world doesn’t always get it right. But the people who wake up every day and keep trying, even when they’re tired and things are hard, are heroes in our eyes. We know how much heart goes into this work.
That work is showing. Across the past three years, our highest quarterly average length of stay dropped from 409 days in 2024 to 89 days in 2026, through our September review. So many people have been busting their tails to get these deserving dogs into homes, and we want you to know your work matters.
Financially, though, we’re having a hard time keeping up. Donations tend to decrease in the winter, making it harder to care for the dogs we have and help others who need us.
From July through September, TMRS spent $40,693.83 on vet care, boarding, food, supplies, transportation, and training. We’ve had unexpected expenses, too. Many of the dogs we’ve pulled recently have had upper respiratory infections. It’s that time of year, and getting them healthy has added to an already tight budget.
Some dogs find homes quickly. Others are with us for months or longer. Their care continues the whole time they’re waiting.
None of us is paid, and we put our own money in, too. We care deeply about these dogs, but we need more help covering their care.
Our Keep Their Care Going fundraiser is asking for 100 people who can give $50 a month. That would mean $5,000 in monthly support we could count on.
If $50 isn’t comfortable for your budget, a smaller amount helps. So does a one-time gift. You don’t have to pay an entire vet bill to help us with one.
